During the direct contact of the coke furnace gas with the coal, the wet starting coal is preheated for drying and simultaneously the tar is made to deposited on the coal surface, then the resulting coal is compacted in the compaction unit.

    • PURPOSE: To separate effectively a solid from a liquid, and to circulate the separated liquid again, by separating a mixture of solid and liquid into a solid portion and a liquid portion while scraping the mixture by scraping blades rotating on a netted table.
      CONSTITUTION: A mixture of solid and liquid is fed onto a netted table 1 from a solid-liquid feeding pipe 10 by rotating plural scraping blades 5 located on the netted table 1 with the aid of a rotating device 4. A part of the liquid of the mixture fed onto the table 1 falls freely through the nets of the table 1 and a side wall 2, but almost all of the mixture is forcedly moved on the net in the circumferential direction by the rotating blades 5, and the liquid is separated from the solid while the mixture is moved and flows downward to a flow passage 9 through the net. The solid separated from the liquid is carried on the net of the table 1 by the blades 5 and discharged from a discharging port 3. Further, the separation is performed easily by slanting the table 1 to the outside, and moreover, clogging of the net is prevented by disposing a rotary backwashing pipe 12 under the table 1.

A driving cylinder 21 is extended to move a driving plate 19 to left, and the movable side plate 6 is moved forward through a slanting surface 18 and a pressure roller 15. Consequently, the compacting pressing space 13 is closed and the coal is formed into a prescribed block. The upper lid is opened and the driving cylinder 21 is compressed to release the upper lid from being pressed; and the gates 11 and 12 are further opened by opening-closing cylinders 9 and 10 to press the block of coal into a coke oven 22 by the bottom plate.

    • PURPOSE:To permit consolidation uniformly down into the inside of powder and granules in a short time by pressing the side plates in the positions where the opposite spacing of a consolidating vessel is narrow to the opposite side plate direction by means of plural cylinders for compression. CONSTITUTION:For example, in order to consolidat block coal to be loaded into a coke furnace, a consolidating vessel 6 is constituted of a bottom plate 1, right and left stationary, movable side plates 2, 3, a front and rear gate 4 and an end plate 5. The mutual spacing between the plates 2, 3 is extremely small as compared to the mutual spacing between the gate 4 and the plate 5 and the height size of the vessel 6. The plate 3 is provided with plural pieces of cylinders 9 for compression, and is also provided with cylinders 11 for pulling back of the plate 3. At the stage of consolidation ground coal is charged into the vessel 6 with the plate 3 held retreated, after which the plate 3 is advanced with the cylinders 9, whereby the coal is consolidated. Thereby, block coal 21 is consolidated and formed in a short time without the generation of oscillations and noises, and without scattering of powder aud dust.

    • PURPOSE:To facilitate the control of the distribution of raw materials in a vertical- type furnace and prolong the sueful life of apparatus by a method wherein the oscillation of a raw material distributing hopper around an axis in one direction and that around an axis orthogonal to said axis can be effected by driving a single shaft, and a driving shaft can be moved in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:When the driving shaft 10 is rotated with a connecting member 14 in a bent condition, the connecting member 14 performs a circular motion while rotating around a shaft part 13 of the shaft 12 of the raw material distributing hopper, since the lower end of the member 14 is rotatably engaged with the shaft part 13. As a result, the shaft 12 oscillates around the central axis 16 of the furnace, the center of the oscillation being the crossing point of a straight line connecting shaft 4, 4' and a straight line connecting shafts 7, 7'. Meanwhile, a metallic support 6 for the hopper is oscillated around Y-axis by the shafts 7, 7'. As a result of the two oscillating motions, the tip end of the hopper 9 moves along a circle so that the raw materials can be distributed along the circumference of the circle. Further, by adding an axial movement of the driving shaft 10, the radius of the circular locus of the tip end of the hopper 9 can be changed and the distribution of the raw materials can be made to be uniform.
