      CONSTITUTION: A mixture of solid and liquid is fed onto a netted table 1 from a solid-liquid feeding pipe 10 by rotating plural scraping blades 5 located on the netted table 1 with the aid of a rotating device 4. A part of the liquid of the mixture fed onto the table 1 falls freely through the nets of the table 1 and a side wall 2, but almost all of the mixture is forcedly moved on the net in the circumferential direction by the rotating blades 5, and the liquid is separated from the solid while the mixture is moved and flows downward to a flow passage 9 through the net. The solid separated from the liquid is carried on the net of the table 1 by the blades 5 and discharged from a discharging port 3. Further, the separation is performed easily by slanting the table 1 to the outside, and moreover, clogging of the net is prevented by disposing a rotary backwashing pipe 12 under the table 1.

CONSTITUTION:When the driving shaft 10 is rotated with a connecting member 14 in a bent condition, the connecting member 14 performs a circular motion while rotating around a shaft part 13 of the shaft 12 of the raw material distributing hopper, since the lower end of the member 14 is rotatably engaged with the shaft part 13. As a result, the shaft 12 oscillates around the central axis 16 of the furnace, the center of the oscillation being the crossing point of a straight line connecting shaft 4, 4' and a straight line connecting shafts 7, 7'. Meanwhile, a metallic support 6 for the hopper is oscillated around Y-axis by the shafts 7, 7'. As a result of the two oscillating motions, the tip end of the hopper 9 moves along a circle so that the raw materials can be distributed along the circumference of the circle. Further, by adding an axial movement of the driving shaft 10, the radius of the circular locus of the tip end of the hopper 9 can be changed and the distribution of the raw materials can be made to be uniform.

Oxygen is supplied through a lance 11 and coal through a chute 12, respectively, and steam is supplied through a pipe 13 to convert quickly the semireduced iron to a pig iron. The supply of the oxygen and coal is temporarily stopped and after slag is discharged from a discharging port 14, oxygen is injected through the lance 11 to decarburize the pig iron. The semireduced iron is supplied simultaneously into another melt reduction furnace 2 and the melt reduction treatment is started. The above- mentioned operation is successively repeated, whereby the cost is reduced and the operability is improved.
