The transparent member 108 is composed of a double glass which demarcates a space S between the glass 108a and the glass 108b by disposing an inner glass 108a and an outer glass 108b opposite to each other in separate positions across a given distance. The LED illuminating device 120 is stored and held in a holder 122 which is fixed in the space S at a location closer to the upper edge of the transparent member 108, where the holder 122 is held between both glasses 108a and 108b.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further save electric power by minimizing the time for operating a refrigerating unit as required.
      SOLUTION: In a time zone for cold keeping operation where a set temperature is high (15°C), when the outside temperature is low, the refrigerating unit (a compressor) may not be operated for a long time. As a result, humidity in the storage is increased in the meantime to produce an easily molding condition. It is effective to decrease the humidity in the storage with forcible refrigerating operation (a set temperature of 3°C). However, the forcible refrigerating operation (one hour) is only permitted after continuously stopping the refrigerating unit for a preset time (four hours) since entering the time zone for the cold insulating operation. In other words, when the refrigerating unit is operated therebefore for cooling down to the set temperature (15°C), the humidity in the storage is also decreased accordingly and so risky operation of the refrigerating unit is avoided.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an ice sensor to accurately sense temperature without being influenced by any external heat and the like.
      SOLUTION: A pair of electrodes 35 constituting an ice sensor 30 are fixed to a synthetic resin bracket 40 through an electrode holding plate 50. The lower end of the bracket 40 is raised through a pin 22 of each of position setting members 20 installed at the bottom surface of a cold water tank 10 so as to fit the lower end of a pouring-out pipe 18 and then the pin is prevented from being pulled out with pouring-out pipe 18. The upper end of the bracket 40 is fixed to the upper end of the circumferential wall of the cold water tank 10 with a screw 49. The bracket 40 is spaced apart from a cooling unit 15 apt to be heated during a halt of a freezer, so that either the bracket 40 or the ice sensor 30 is prevented from raising temperature. External heat is restricted from being entered into the position of the ice sensor 30 through the bracket 40 because the bracket 40 itself is formed by a synthetic resin material showing a poor thermal conduction with the result that the ice near the ice sensor 30 is prevented from being melted unintentionally and an erroneous sensing of non-completion of iced state is prevented from being detected.

If the storage detection temperature is lower than the storage set temperature for all storage compartments, a compressor is stopped and all opening/closing valves are made into open state, and after the compressor is stopped, a protection stop time (h) is provided until re-starting. A fan drive control device is provided for a storage fan of a storage compartment on a lower temperature side, which drives the storage fan while the compressor is being stopped, and when the storage detection temperature rises to a reference temperature during the protection stop time (h) of the compressor, the storage fan is stopped.
