    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform smooth key operation and prevent the occurrence of mischievous action by suppressing a key cylinder from falling, in a key cylinder holding structure and method for a saddle-riding type vehicle.SOLUTION: In a key section 34 of a key cylinder 31, an engage groove 35 is formed which is exposed inside of a stay while notching the key section in a circumferential direction of the cylinder and abutting a flange 33 to an outer side surface 42e of a supporting plate 42. To the engage groove 35, an inner edge part 54 can be engaged which is externally fitted to the key cylinder 31 and avoids a washer opening part in a washer member 51 abutted to an inner side surface 42f of the supporting plate 42. The supporting plate 42 is held between the washer member 51 and the flange 33.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a step structure exerting a sufficient vibration absorbing performance irrespective of the riding attitude.
      SOLUTION: The step structure of a saddle type vehicle is configured so that projections 47 are formed at a certain spacing over the peripheral edge 55 of a step 23 which admits placing of the rider's foot, a vibrationproof member 33 is installed on the projections 47, and that the oversurface of the member 33 is normally positioned higher than the projections 47, wherein the vibrationproof member 33 is arranged fastened removably to the step 23 through a fastening member 34 and composed of a body part 56 arranged inside of the peripheral edge 55 and an extension part 35 extending outward from the body part 56 and positioned between the projections 47, wherein when a specified load is applied to the oversurface 52 of the vibrationproof member 33, it 33 deflects and the oversurface 52 of the extension part 35 sinks from the oversurfaces 52 of the projections 47, and thereby the rider's foot is received by the projections.
