    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a chip tray from being displaced from a given position at the inner bottom part of a second division joint also when branching take-out is effected by obliquely assembling a joint for active pipe branch since a distance between an original pipe and other buried pipe is narrow, and to suitably realize take-out of chips even in case of branch take-out at oblique piping, in a joint for active pipe branch wherein chips are stored in a chip tray after boring of the original pipe by a hole saw, and then taken out. SOLUTION: A pair of first and second division joints 4 ad 5 are conjugated with a part in an axial direction of the original pipe 1 and a branch pipe 2 is connected to a branch pipe connection port 13 of the second division joint 5. A hole saw 26 is set at a boring control port 14 of the second division joint 5. Chips 42 generated by boring are stored in a chip tray 15 situated in a recessed part 46 of the inner bottom of the second division joint 5. The chip tray 15 is held in a fit-in state in the recessed part 46 with a shrinkable and deformable elastic ring 47 situated in a size-reduced state on the inner periphery of the upper end part of the opening of the recessed part 46, and lifting of the chip tray 15 from the recessed part 46 in a diameter expandable state is allowed.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform work for replacing former main and branch pipes of an existing supply pipe with new main and branch pipes and joining the same without shutting off gas to the existing supply pipe. SOLUTION: First and second branch joints 6, 7 are fitted to two places in the midway of the existing supply pipe 3, and first and second opening and closing devices 11, 12 are fitted to the inner and outer branch ports 9, 10 of the first and second branch joints. A branch hole 21 is bored in the existing supply pipe 3. The second opening and closing device 12 is put in the closed state and a boring machine 18 is detached. A by-pass pipe 22 is connected between the second opening and closing devices 12, and the second opening and closing device 12 is put in the opened state. The boring machine 18 is fitted to bore a shut-off branch hole 23 in the existing supply pipe 3. After the boring machine 18 is detached, a bag type intra-pipe shut-off device 24 is fitted to each first opening and closing device 11, the bag 25 of the bag type intra-pipe shut-off device is inserted from the shut-off branch hole 23 into the existing supply pipe 3 and expanded to intercept the gas circulation in the existing supply pipe. The space between first branch joint 6 and the second branch joint 7 is cut. The new main and branch pipes 4 and the cut end part on the second branch joint side of the existing supply pipe 3 are connected by a new supply pipe 26. The first and second opening and closing devices of the second branch joint are put in the closed state, and the by-pass pipe 22 and the bag type intra-pipe shut-off device 24 are respectively detached. A plug insert tool 29 is fitted to the first and second opening and closing devices, and a plug 28 is inserted in the shut-off branch hole 23 and the by-pass branch hole 21 to temporarily perform closing. The first and second opening and closing devices are detached, and main plugs 30 are fitted to the inner and outer branch ports 9, 10 of the second branch joint 12 to finally perform closing.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform a connection construction for replacing an old main branch pipe of an existing supply pipe with a new main branch pipe. SOLUTION: First and second branch joints 6, 7 are fitted to two positions in a mid-way of the existing supply pipe 3 and then first and second switching devices 11, 12 are fitted to each of internal and external branch openings 9, 10 of the joints. A bypass pipe is connected between the switching devices 12, 12 to make the second switching device 12 "open". A bag type in-pipe blocking device is fitted to the switching devices 11 to block a gas flow inside the existing supply pipe. A first branch joint 6 and second branch joint 7 of the existing supply pipes 3 are cut. The new main branch pipe 4 and the cut portion of the second branch joint of the existing supply pipe 3 are connected by the new supply pipe 26. The first and second switching devices 11, 12 are made to close and the bypass pipe 22 is removed from the second switching device 12. Temporary plugs are attached to the first and second switching devices 11, 12 to remove the switching devices 11, 12.       SOLUTION: The saddle device 14 having the branch port 24 is secured to the outer periphery of the tube 11. The movable piston 31 with the blade 32 is installed to cut off a part of the wall part of the tube 11 by moving it and allows the inside of the tube 11 to communicate with the branch port 24. The tube branching device further comprises a detection means 39 detecting that the piston 31 is moved to a regular position and the inside of the tube 11 is allowed to normally communicate with the branch port 24.
