    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound absorbing material and its manufacturing method in which cost is low and sound absorbing characteristics are made superior compared with conventional mineral fiber type or inorganic type sound absorbing materials, reduction in the sound absorbing performance caused by the use over a long period is easily recovered by washing the sound absorbing material with water or high pressure air or the like and effective use of marine industrial wastes is accomplished.
      SOLUTION: The sound absorbing material includes 25 to 95 weight % of shell crashed particles having grain size of 0.1 to 30mm and is constituted by a molding which is made by binding the shell crashed particles with 75 to 5 weight % organic binder and/or inorganic binder. Shells belong to the bivalve class winged pearl shell order, especially scallops are desirable and crashed and used as the shell crashed material.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compact cooling and heating device and a cooling and heating method capable of being driven for a long time with small electric power as a refrigerant does not leak and frictional loss is small, being inexpensively manufactured as it does not need components of high precision and has a simple structure, and easily carried as it is compact and lightweight, to condition a temperature in clothes and to cool or heat an affected area of the body as a medical appliance. SOLUTION: In this compact cooling and heating device 1 wherein the refrigerant is circulated in a pipe conduit for cooling or heating, a compressing means 2 has a flexible tube 21 constituting a pipe conduit from an outlet of a heat exchanging means 5 for absorbing heat to an inlet of a heat exchanging means 3 for radiating heat, and a blockage portion moving means 7 for pressing the flexible tube 21 from the external to form a blockage portion 6, and compressing the refrigerant existing between the the blockage portion 6 and an expanding means 4 by moving the blockage portion 6 in the outlet direction of the compressing means 2.
