摘要： PURPOSE:To surely drain residual slurry out of a conveyance pipe, by inserting a pig into the conveyance pipe through its inlet port after slurry conveyance and continuously supplying water into the pipe so that the water pressure causes the pig to flow to the outlet port of the pipe. CONSTITUTION:Throughout the conveyance of coal slurry to a slurry transport ship 3, the valves 12, 13 of a branch pipe 11 are closed and a pig 30 is held between the valves. After a prescribed quantity of the slurry is conveyed, the valve 12 is opened to insert the pig 30 into a ground pipe 5 by compressed air or the like. After the valve 12 is closed again, clean water or sea water is continuously supplied into the pipe 5. The pig 30 comprises a bullet-shaped cylinder 31 made of a flexible material, a cup-shaped member 33 secured on the front of the cylinder, and a spiral band 32 secured on the outside of the cylinder. The cylinder 31 is expanded by the pressure of the continuously supplied water so that the spiral band 32 is tightened on the inside of the pipe 5. Residual slurry in the conveyance pipe is pushed by the pig 30 so that the residual slurry is put into the hold of the ship 3 through a slurry inlet port 16.
