    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire a high-quality turning removal image with no artifact over a short period of time, without acquiring phase correcting data by a body coil etc., in the reconstitution of image by a parallel imaging method.
      SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance imaging apparatus comprises: an RF reception coil which is constituted by combining at least two small-sized RF reception coils for receiving a magnetic nuclear resonance signal; a measurement control means for making each of the small-sized RF reception coils acquire data for sensitivity distribution and data for an image by omitting an encode step for a k-space; and a signal processing means which creates the sensitivity distribution from data for the sensitivity distribution and image data with turning from the data for the image, for each of the small-sized RF reception coils, which performs a turning removal operation for the image data by using the sensitivity distribution, and which acquires data on one image by merging the respective image data together. The signal processing means creates a complex synthetic image from the data for the sensitivity distribution for each of the small-sized RF reception coils, and creates the sensitivity distribution by correcting the phase of a sensitivity image acquired from the data for the sensitivity distribution, through the use of the phase component of the complex synthetic image.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create a static magnetic field unevenness map wherein the principal value rotation of a phase is reduced when obtaining, by phase unwrapping processing, a phase rotation amount caused by static magnetic field unevenness by obtaining and correcting the inclination of the phase generated between different TEs with high accuracy so as to obtain an image wherein the counterchanging between water and fat is reduced.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus calculates the inclination of a phase generated in images between different echoes by obtaining an average or a weighting average value of differential values of the phase (a phase difference between adjacent pixels). By correcting the inclination of the phase generated in the images between the echoes by the inclination of the phase, the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus reduces the principal value rotation of the phase when obtaining a phase rotation amount by static magnetic field unevenness (a static magnetic field unevenness map) by phase unwrapping processing. Thereby, an image wherein the counterchanging between a water and fat image is reduced can be obtained.
