    • PURPOSE: To prevent an electrostatic charging flocculation of a toner, and to obtain a good developing property and transfer property by using a ferrite carrier of semi-conductivity for a magnetic brush developing method.
      CONSTITUTION: In a developing method of a magnetic toner, when developing a charge type magnetic toner, a lump of the toner is broken down by a mecanical force of a carrier, a fluidity of the toner is improved, a charging flocculation of the toner is prevented and a line of under development is eliminated by adding a semi-conductive ferrite carrier to the charge type magnetic toner. The ferrite carrier is constituted of a perfect mixture of a metallic oxide and an iron oxide, and it is crystallographically a manetic material having a structure of a spinel, a hexagonal crystal, etc., and for instance, a sintered body of an oxide of nickel, zinc, manganese calcium, etc. and a trivalent iron oxide.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a toner capable of providing a fixed picture image having high quality with superior resistance to offsetting and superior fixing characteristics by using a mixture comprising a resin, colorant and a parting agent and using a specified polyester resin, styrene/acrylic copolymer, and xylene/formaldehyde resin for the resin. CONSTITUTION:The toner comprises a resin mixture, colorant, and a releasing agent wherein the resin mixture consists of polyester resin comprising diol component and di- or polyvalent carboxylic acid or a deriv. thereof, styrene/acrylic copolymer contg. alpha,beta-unsatd. ethylenic monomer as constituting unit, and xylene/ formaldehyde resin. Since the toner for heat fixing contains polyester resin and styrene/acrylic resin, the resistance to offsetting and the developing characteristic are superior. Further, the melt viscosity is lowered because xylene/formaldehyde resin is incorporated. Therefore, the offsetting resistance and blocking resistance are improved, and the fixing characteristics are improved as well, and fixed picture image of high quality is obtd.

CONSTITUTION:A heat fixing toner contains a resin, a colorant, and a releasing agent, and the resin consists of a polyester resin composed of polyol components and bivalent or multivalent carboxylic acid or acid deriv. components, and a styrene-acrylic type copolymer composed of alpha,beta-unsatd. ethylenic monomers as structural units, and 0.5-7wt% positively chargeable dye is contained, thus permitting good heat fixing and prevention from offset. Said copolymer, preferably, has a weight average mol.wt. of 50,000-300,000, and a number average mol.wt. of 10,000-50,000, and a mol.wt. distribution of 3-30. Said polyester resin, preferably has a weight average mol.wt. of 5,000-100,000, a number average mol.wt. of 5,000-20,000, and a mol.wt. distribution of 5-20. A preferable mixing ratio of the styrene-acrylic type copolymer to the polyester resin is (30-95):(70-5) by weight.

    • PURPOSE:To form an image of high quality even when the control range of toner density is widened by specifying the saturated magnetism and grain size of magnetic carriers and also specifying the electrostatic charging amount of magnetic toner, and rotating a magnet. CONSTITUTION:A permanent magnet member 8 having plural magnetic poles is arranged in a cylindrical sleeve 5; and the sleeve 5 is rotated as shown by an arrow A and the member 8 is rotated as shown by an arrow B. Consequently, a developer in a magnetic brush rotates on its own center, and the brush becomes soft to improve the reproducibility of half tones. The saturated magnetism of magnetic carriers of the used developer 3 is 40-220emu/gr and the grain size is 50-200mum. The magnetic toner consists principally of resin and magnetic powder and its charge amount is >=151muc/g. Consequently, the image formation of high quality is performed even when the control range of toner density is widened.

The obtained pressure-fixable magnetic toner has good fixability in low pressure, and good storage stability at high temps., and it can be used for electrophotography a magnetic printing process, etc.
