    • PURPOSE:To obtain a high magnetic permeability film of the ground, which causes no increase of a head recording current nor drop of a reproducing output by providing a vertical magnetized film on a high magnetic permeability material having a specified specific magnetic permeability. CONSTITUTION:A Co80Zr9.5Mo10.5 thin film is prepared by a sputter method on a glass disk, and also a Co80Cr20 thin film is provided by a sputter method. A magnetic permeability which does not cause a deterioration of a reproducing output, an increase of I90 and an increase of noise is set to a range of 100-150, from a relation of a magnitude e1k of a reproducing output in case when recording and reproducing are executed to the two layer film by using a ring head, a current value I90 for giving an output of 90% of the maximum output, a magnitude of a DC noise, and a magnetic permeability of a Co-Zr-Mo thin film.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a vertical magnetic recording medium of high characteristics which enables the reduction in recording current, has a large S/N and is free from spike noise by providing a thin film having high magnetic permeability, a film of a antiferromagnetic material, a film having high magnetic permeability and a vertically magnetized film in this order on a substrate. CONSTITUTION:A thin film having high magnetic permeability such as Ni80Fe20, a thin film of an anti-ferromagnetic material such as Fe50Mn50, and a thin film having high magnetic permeability such as Co80Mo9.5Zr10.5 are formed successively on an annular non-magnetic substrate, whereafter a vertically magnetized film is formed of an alloy such as Co80Cr20 thereon to 0.03-0.3mu thickness. Since the thin film of the anti-ferromagnetic material is provided between the thin films having high magnetic permeability, the generation of spike noise is eliminated and the excellent vertical magnetic recording medium having a high S/N with the decreased current necessary for recording is obtd. If an amorphous metallic film is used for the film having high magnetic permeability on the antiferromagnetic layer, better performance is obtd. The higher S/N is obtainable by applying a magnetic field in the transverse direction of tracks in the stage of forming the respective magnetic layers. The much higher S/N is obtainable if the entire part is heat treated in a vacuum or inert gas or reducing gas kept a 350- 550 deg.C after the formation of the vertically magnetized film by using both upper and lower film having high magnetic permeability of which the Curie point is higher than the heat treatment temp. and the anti-magnetic material film of which the Neel temp. is higher than said heat treatment temp.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce a spike-shaped noise, by utilizing the coupling phenomenon generated on the interface between a ferromagnetic material and an anti-ferromagnetic material to suppress the generation of magnetic walls in a high-permeability magnetic material film. CONSTITUTION:It is proved by experiments that the spike-shaped noise is not generated by the interaction between the high-permeability magnetic material layer and a vertical magnetized film provided on this layer but is generated from only the high-permeability magnetic material layer. Many magnetic walls are generated in the part where the spike-shaped noise is generated. During the production of a high-permeability magnetic material film 2, ring-shaped and disc- shaped permanent magnets 4 and 5 are arranged on the outside and the inside of a substrate 1 so as to be brought into contact with the substrate, and a radial magnetic field going toward the center of the substrate is always applied to bring about the state where the generation of magnetic walls is eliminated, and continuously, an antiferromagnetic material film 6 is produced while applying an external magnetic field, thereby suppressing the generation of magnetic walls in the high-permeability magnetic material film 2.
