    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner capable of employing a miniaturized and inexpensive compressor and a motor-driven expansion valve, and effecting optimum injection into the compressor.
      SOLUTION: An injection pipeline 13 for guiding a gas refrigerant from an air/liquid separator 5 to the compressor 1 is provided, and a first pressure reducing means for heating and cooling operation of a refrigerating cycle is formed of a parallel circuit consisting of the first motor-driven expansion valve 6 and a first two-way valve 9, while a second pressure reducing means for heating and cooling operation is formed of a parallel circuit consisting of the second motor-driven expansion valve 7 and a second two-way valve 10. A controller 14 controls the second two-way valve 10 so as to be opened when the pressure of the gas/liquid separator 5 is increased upon heating operation, and controls the first two-way valve 9 so as to be opened when the pressure of the gas/liquid separator 5 is increased upon cooling operation.
