    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and a method for simplifying diagnosis of insulation of a pole transformer.
      SOLUTION: Deteriorating condition of the pole transformer is diagnosed by applying the laser thereto from the ground even when the pole transformer installed on the pole is not lowered therefrom. Moreover, the distance up to the pole transformer housing wall can be measured by emitting the laser beam from the ground, and receiving the reflected light beam in order to measure vibration in the minute amplitude of the wall surface of the external wall from change of the distance with respect to time. Deterioration of pole transformer means thermal deterioration of the insulation oil and fiber material within the transformer and deterioration of electrical insulation property due to the entry of water. Partial discharge is generated due to deterioration of electrical insulation property. Deteriorating condition at the inside of transformer is detected by observing partial discharge generated therein from the measured fine amplitude of the wall surface, and operation life span is estimated from the result. Since the diagnostic job can be done easily, the pole transformer can be diagnosed totally and the power feeding quality can also be improved.

As a result, the generation of destructive voids which likely appear on the surface of a secondary bobbin is suppressed, and adhesion between the bobbin and the insulation resin material is increased, resulting in an increase in the insulation durability of the ignition coil.
