    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a perfect noncontact type vein authentication device which is utilized under an environment where sanitation is thought to be important and being open at a display position of a living body in order to implement personal authentication without giving oppression feeling caused by a device shape to a user and obtain a clear vein image in spite of variations of the display position of the living body. SOLUTION: The vein authentication device includes: a light source for light-emitting infrared rays; an input interface having an imaging section for imaging the vein image of the living body with light transmitted from the light source; a means for controlling intensity of irradiating light; an image operation section for performing feature extraction and feature comparison from the image; and a positioning means for preparing the living body. The light source is particularly arranged in front of the living body, and the light source and the imaging section are arranged at a position relationship where the light of the light source does not give bad influence on the imaging section.
