摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for reflecting information of handwriting entered into a map by using an electronic pen, on a paper sheet of a different kind.
SOLUTION: A map information system is equipped with: a paper sheet where location information is recorded in dot pattern and a map image is displayed; and the electronic pen which reads the dot pattern to output handwriting of a pen tip as handwriting information, and includes: a relating section 208 which relates the handwriting information output by the electronic pen and the map image into which the handwriting information is entered to each other; a storage device 212 which holds the handwriting information and map image; a retrieval section 206 which retrieves the handwriting information and map image by using information specifying the map image as key information; a pattern allocation section 207 which newly allocates a dot pattern when acquiring print request information including information specifying a map image requested to be output; and an output indication section 217 which outputs output data including the handwriting information, map image, and dot pattern retrieved by the retrieval section 206.

Paper coordinates are read out from the electronic paper 2 on which the dot pattern 5 and the map coordinates are mapped and printed by using an electronic pen. Since a database for mapping the paper coordinates on the electronic paper 2 with the geographical coordinates of the electronic map 1 is used, the paper coordinates can be acquired as geographical coordinates.
