    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alcohol on exhalation detection device for preventing drunken driving and drowsy driving of a driver.SOLUTION: An alcohol on exhalation detection device includes: a housing equipped with an exhalation introducing port; a detection electrode 2a and a voltage applying electrode 1a provided in the housing so as to sandwich the exhalation introducing port; a power supply portion for applying voltage to the voltage applying electrode; a microammeter 4a separating and deflecting exhalation introduced into the housing by an electric field generated by the voltage applied from the power supply portion on the voltage applying electrode, and measuring that as a current value by the detection electrode; an alcohol detecting portion for detecting alcohol on the exhalation introduced into the housing; and a signal processing portion for processing an exhalation signal value measured by the ammeter and an alcohol signal value detected by the alcohol detecting portion.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detecting apparatus that basically detects ions under atmospheric pressure.SOLUTION: An ion detecting apparatus comprises: a housing placed in an environment of atmospheric pressure and having an inlet through which external air is introduced into the housing; a detecting electrode that detects a deflected part of charged particles contained in the external air introduced into the housing; and a voltage applying electrode. The detecting electrode and the voltage applying electrode are disposed side by side in the gravity direction and provided with an electrode holder for holding both electrodes, and the electrode holder is formed of a material whose coefficient of water absorption is not more than 0.4.
