    • PURPOSE:To prevent fouling of an outer cylinder liquid communicating section, by forcibly injecting an outer cylinder liquid intermittently into an outer cylinder to extrude the outer cylinder liquid held therein out of the capillary type outer cylinder liquid communicating section. CONSTITUTION:A feed pump 20 is operated with an outer cylinder communicating section 6 of a reference electrode 1 turned upward, an outer cylinder liquid 7 passes through a conduit 16, a feed pump 20, a conduit 17, a stop valve 19 and a conduit 18 to be injected into an outer cylinder 8 and the excess thereof 7 flows over the outer cylinder communicating section 6. Under such a condition, the stop valve 19 is closed, the outer cylinder liquid communicating section 6 is turned down to immerse the outer cylinder 8 into a sample liquid and a measurement thereof is performed together with a detection electrode. Then, immediately prior to the discharge of the sample liquid or before the cleaning of the reference electrode 1 after the sample measurement, as soon as the stop valve 19 is opened for 1-10sec, the feed pump 20 is put into operation for the same length of time. Thus, a fresh liquid-liquid junction part is formed in the outer cylinder liquid communicating section 6 to prevent the fouling thereof.

    • PURPOSE:To achieve a higher performance of an electrolytic part, by making an internal reference liquid always flow with a change in the construction of a comparison electrode to eliminate a film. CONSTITUTION:An internal liquid 6 enters the top 2 of a comparison electrode 2 and flows to the bottom 3 thereof finely through a fit section 7 between the top 2 and a sleeve 8. An internal reference liquid 5 flows to the bottom 3 thereof. The top 2 and the bottom 3 of the comparison electrode are built in a fit construction and fixed with a spring 9. Moreover, a surface treatment of an internal electrode 4 is done by AgBr. A tube is connected to the bottom 3 and the reference liquid 5 flows into the comparison electrode to be poured into a measuring tank at the tip of the electrode. The reference liquid 5 moves to the top 2 and into the bottom 3 and the internal liquid is poured thereinto 5 through the fit construction. This creates a function identical to that of a film to eliminate it. This makes the electrode free from effect of the film, thereby improving the performance of an electrolytic part.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of electrical noises and to improve the maintenance characteristic of the reference electrode provided to an electrolytic measuring instrument attached to an automatic blood analysis apparatus by insulating the internal standard soln. flowing in the electrode and deaerating the soln. CONSTITUTION:The internal standard soln. 24 which is the electrolytic sample soln. fed from a syringe is put through the inside of a tube 25 into an insulating trap 26 where the standard soln. 24 is insulated and the air bubbles generated by the dissolved oxygen in the standard soln. 24 are removed in the tube 24. Only the deaerated standard soln. 24 is fed via a tube 27 into a hole 28 of an outside cylinder of the reference electrode 20 made of glass. The hole 28 is previously formed to the same bore as the bore of the tube 27 so that the remaining air bubbles do not stagnate therein. Ceramics 29 having many holes is mounted to the mid-point of the hole 28 so as to face a horizontal direction and the reference electrode 31 contg. potassium bromide as the internal soln. 30 is mounted thereto. The internal electrode 32 is immersed in the soln. 30. The reference electrode 20 which is not affected by the air bubbles is obtd. in such a manner.
