    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen transport system that automatically, quickly, and accurately carry out treatment even a rack where information has been lost. SOLUTION: In the specimen transport system where the peculiar identification code of a specimen and the peculiar rack identification code of the rack for maintaining the specimen are read by an ID reader 3, and the transportation and treatment of the rack is controlled by a controller 4 based on the read information, direction conversion units 6a to 6c are provided, where the direction conversion units change the direction of the rack for maintaining the specimen according to the treatment content of the specimen. The direction conversion units are provided with a means for reading the specimen identification code and/or the rack identification code regarding the rack being transported to the direction conversion units, and transport the rack being transported to the direction conversion units in a direction being indicated by the controller 4 based on the read information.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the control over rack-transfer without control over rack- transfer by a central control by repeatedly transmitting drop-in information while transferring racks. SOLUTION: A specimen processing system is formed of a rack introducing part 1 to transfer racks, transferring lines 2, 3, 4, and 5, a rack housing part 6, specimen processing units 100, 200, 300, and 400 for processing specimens, etc. By this, each transferring line is controlled only by the conditions of an adjacent transferring line and a specimen processing unit, and the information on the dropping-in of racks necessary for control is obtained from an adjacent transferring line and a specimen processing unit. Therefore, it is possible to perform decentralized control and to prevent the concentration of load as in centralized control. In addition, as the transferring lines independently control transfer on the basis of the drop-in information, it is possible to adapt to the increase and reduction of the number of lines and specimen processing units without changing software or hardware.

    • PURPOSE:To certainly pull out a rubber stopper, which is corked in a blood- collecting tube for blood test, to prevent troubles from occurring in the next process by a method wherein an automatic stopper extractor brings devices into operation after detecting the presence of the stopper to pull out the stopper with a stopper pressing bar and a claw. CONSTITUTION:An automatic stopper extractor consists of a rack transfer mechanism and a stopper extracting mechanism 2. The rack transfer mechanism is provided with a blood-collecting tube holding mechanism 7 which holds a blood-collecting tube 12 immovably at a specified position. A light emitting element 8 and a light receiving element 9 are installed facing each other as a detector to detect a central protrusion 16 of a stopper 17 that is corked in the blood-collecting tube 12. On the other hand, the stopper extracting mechanism 2 is provided with a handling part 10 with claws 11 which is moved to a position above the blood-collecting tube 12. When the output of the light receiving element 9 shows the presence of the stopper 17, the blood collecting tube 12 is held by the holding mechanism 7, and the stopper 17 is pressed by a stopper pressing bar and pulled up by the claws 11, so that the stopper 17 is pulled out.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To feed nozzle chips in a fixed direction by successively controlling operation steps so as to regulate the direction of charged and stored nozzles chips, by automatically lining up a plurality of nozzle chips on a nozzle chip storage container, by mounting a plurality of nozzle chips from lined-up containers, and by making dispensation under dispensing instructions. SOLUTION: Nozzle chips dropped onto a buffer unit 9 from a hopper unit 1 are shifted onto a conveyer 3 by a suitable number, and are then fed onto a crawler unit 4 one by one. The unit 4 stores and transfers the nozzle chips one by one, and nozzle chips lined up horizontally, are dropped one by one onto a stocker unit 5, and are then lined up in an arbitrary number. The front ends of thus lined-up nozzle chips are aligned together being directed downward, and are dropped onto a chuck unit 6. The nozzle chips on the chuck units 6 are dropped and arranged in nozzle chip storage containers which are successively moved. When all chips are stored in the container 7, the container 7 is moved to a position where the chips are mounted by five at each time, and accordingly, sample liquid is sucked up by a required quantity instructed by a host computer.
