    • PURPOSE:To suppress the effect of a fault onto the entire ring system by disconnecting substantially a line concentrator including an abnormal location from a duplicated system transmission line when a ring abnormality is detected and applying the internal diagnostic processing to specify the abnormal location. CONSTITUTION:All terminal stations (ST) 2 are connected to the duplicated system transmission line 3 via an internal transmission line in each line concentrator 1 constituting the ring network system and when it is confirmed that a fault takes place in the inside of a specific line concentrator including the station ST 2 and a branch line 4, the line concentrator 1 disconnects the internal transmission line from the duplicated system transmission line 3 and the internal transmission line itself forms a closed local ring in the line concentrator. Since the local ring including the faulty location is disconnected quickly from the duplicated system transmission line, other normal concentrators 1 are connected to the ring network not including the faulty location and the system is restored immediately to the normal communication state.

    • PURPOSE:To specify a faulty port without using a mechanism for adding a port number identifier by sending data for constitution control out of a constitution control station when a network becomes abnormal and performing constitution control over a transmission line by a constitution control station which never receives the data until the data is received. CONSTITUTION:A control station ST2 which detects abnormality sets a mode wherein a frame RCF for constitution control is sent out to a downstream side continuously, and an RCF reception monitor timer (TWR) is started to monitor the reception of the RCF, thereby judging whether the control ST should perform constitution control or not. When the RCF is received, it is evident that there is another control ST which should perform constitution control at the upstream side of the control ST, so the TWR is stopped, the continuous transmission mode of the RCF is reset, and the received RCF is relayed to the downstream side. If the TWR enters a time-out state without receiving the RCF, it is judged that there is a faulty port in a line concentrator under the control of the control ST, and the constitution control is started.

    • PURPOSE:To allow each station (ST) in a network to grasp existing location information by allowing each ST to grasp relation of information corresponding to the connection order in the data transmitting direction. CONSTITUTION:In a network having a ring transmission line, the upperstream ST in the data transmission direction receives a communication frame earlier than the downstream ST. The ST receiving a frame sets a reception display to apply relaying and the existence of the ST receiving the frame at the upperstream than the own ST is recognized because the reception display is set and it is possible to discriminate a specific ST. The ST sends a frame having a value 'N' by multiple address designation and the ST receiving the frame at first sets the reception display, generates freshly a frame having information incremented by, e.g., '1' to the value and sends the result with multiple address designation. Then each ST repeats the operation. Since the location address in the network of the own ST is recognized, highly efficient operation and maintenance are attained.

    • PURPOSE: To allow an inquiry station to identify easily its location by allowing a fixed station receiving a location address inquiry at first to change a frame reception state from non-reception into reception and inform the location address to the location address inquiry station.
      CONSTITUTION: When a station capable of moving 1-B transmits a location address request frame including an FC10: line circuit management frame, a SA12: its own ST1-B address, a VI17: location address information request, and an FS16: nonreception, the frame is received at first by a fixed frame station 2-A. This station relays the FS16 as it is already received. Then this frame is received by a fixed station 2-B. Then stations 2-A, 2-B check the frame and the station 2-B in which the FS16 is received already gives up the frame, neglects the request of location address, and a location address information frame is transmitted from the station 2-A when the FS16 is not received.
