    • PURPOSE:To offer an accurate positioning method whose reliability is high by a method wherein the outside-shape contour of an image picked up by using a PV camera is extracted or the projection distribution of a component region is found and the approximate position of the image is then decided. CONSTITUTION:A silhouette image is taken into a memory at an image processing device when the image is input. Then, it is approximated to a polygon by executing a square approximation treatment. On the basis of image contour information obtained by the treatment, its recessed parts are filled; and an outside-shape contour is changed to a protruding figure. A rectangle which is overlapped best with the silhouette image of a component is selected. For example, in the case of the image of QFP, it is positioned by drawing measuring lines in parallel with individual sides of the rectangle and on the inner side by a prescribed amount which has been given in advance. In the case of a square ticket or the like, a positioning window is set on the inner side by a prescribed amount from corners of a circumscribed rectangle; then, its position and its angle can be decided by synthesizing all positions computed by using the window.

    • PURPOSE:To realize a form recognition with high accuracy, by storing a parameter which regulates a straight line equation other than a pointer, or an end mark, at each line segment approximating data, and finding the apex of an approximate polygon as the intersection of a straight line. CONSTITUTION:Three picture element data adjacent to the present picture element position are read by an outline tracing program, and the progressing directions of the data are decided. A straight line template is referred corresponding to the progressing direction, and the pointer, and a new pointer, and straight line parameter corresponding to the direction, can be obtained. And a process is performed when the pointer is decided as the end mark by a straight line deciding program, by setting the present picture element position as a new start point, and the same process is repeated when the pointer is other than the end mark. In such way, the straight line parameter, and an end point coordinate are registered in order at a straight line string table. An intersection calculation program finds the intersection of a straight line based on those data, and the coordinate is registered at an apex string table, and the form recognition with high accuracy can be performed.

CONSTITUTION:With regard to a cut and collapse test pattern for evaluating the printing quality of a dot printer which has been placed on an illuminating light source 2, an image is inputted to an image processor 4 by a camera 1, and the cut or the collapse is decided by operating a CRT 5 and a keyboard 7, and starting an evaluating program stored by an FD driver 6. The test pattern 8 sets a width 10 between rectangles to the minimum width by which it is not allowed to cause a collapse, and its pattern is repeated. An image of the test pattern 8 is inputted, an area division of black and white of a binary-coded image is executed, a number is given in order and the number of black areas corresponding to an area of a printing pattern is calculated. In case when the number of measurement is smaller than a dictionary data, the pattern is decided to be a collapse pattern 11, and in case when both of them are the same, it is decided to be a normal pattern, and in case when the former is larger, it is decided that a pattern 12 becomes thin and divided into two or more areas, and has been counted.

By judging as skipping when an amount of this skipping exceeds the certain constant TH, distinction between the article the back ground becomes available.
