    • PURPOSE:To improve reproducibility of electrophotographic characteristics, sensitivity to He-Ne laser beams, and heat resistance and to extend a life by making the alloy element concn. of the Te-contg. layer of an Se type photosensitive body almost constant in the film thickness direction. CONSTITUTION:The alloy element concn. of the Te-contg. layer (Te-Se alloy layer) 4 of an Se type photosensitive body formed on a conductive substrate 1 is made almost constant in the film thickness direction. The Se photosensitive body is obtained by laminating an Se layer 3 and the layer 4 successively on the substrate 1. The layer 4 is formed by vapor deposition at a temp. about 100 deg.C higher than that of the liquid phase line of the binary constitutional diagram. The layer 4 thus formed makes the content of Te constant in the film thickness direction, enhances glass transition point and heat resistance, and extends its life, and further, eliminates scattering of electrophotographic characteristics, and enhances reproducibility. Since the Te content has correlation with, e.g. sensitivity to He-Ne laser beams, the sensitivity can be held at the optimum value by controlling the Te content.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain an electrophotographic receptor superior in printing resistance and long term durability, by vaccum evaporation of an amorphous selenium or an selenium alloy on a substrate consisting of an age-hardening type aluminum alloy and cooling them at a specified cooling rate.
      CONSTITUTION: An age-hardening type aluminum alloy having ≥60Hv Vickers hardness is used as a substrate, and an amorphous selenium or a selenium alloy is made vaccum evaporation on the substrate as a photosensitive layer. The photosensitive layer consisting of the amorphous selenium or the selenium alloy and having ≥5H surface hardness by the pencil hardness test method is formed by cooling this substrate and the photosensitive layer at ≥5°C/min on the age-hardening type aluminum alloy substrate having ≥60Hv Vickers hardness to obtain the desired photoreceptor. As said age-hardening type aluminum alloy, an Al-Mg-Si type is preferable. The cooling rate of 5W20°C/min is obtained by compulsorily cooling both the substrate and the photosensitive layer after the vacuum evaporation.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a photoreceptor superior in photographic characteristics, adhesion berween a substrate and a photosensitive layer, and the like, by using the substrate having a chemically formed film in a selenium photoreceptor having a conductive substrate made of aluminum or its alloy. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a conductive substrate made of aluminum or its alloy is cleaned by a conventional method, dipped in a solution of chromic acid anhydride to form a chemically produced film, and an electrophotographic receptor is formed by vapor depositing selenium on this film. Said film is preferably formed by dipping the substrate in a 0.05-0.2wt% solution of chromic acid anhydride at room temperature for 2-3min.

The pH of the mixture is adjusted to 9.5W10.
