SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display is provided with the backlight comprising the plurality of arrayed linear light sources CFL, each having an electrode part ELD at the end and disposed on the back face of the liquid crystal panel via an optical compensation sheet. The backlight has a lower frame FLM-D, formed of a metallic sheet and is provided with a heat radiation member MP surrounding the electrode part ELD of the linear light source CFL, making an insulating cushion material GB interposed and connected thermally to the lower frame FLM-D made of a metal material.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backlight device capable of enhancing luminance in the center part of a display screen, and also capable of enhancing uniformity of luminance on the display screen by correcting luminance deterioration in the peripheral part of the display screen, and to provide a liquid display device capable of obtaining a display image causing no uneven luminance and having high quality on the display screen of a liquid crystal display panel by using this backlight device.
      SOLUTION: This backlight device is equipped with a diffusion plate DEP having a lighting surface to make diffused light irradiated on the back of a display panel, a plurality of cold-cathode fluorescent lamps CFL installed by arranging them in parallel with and face to face with the back of the diffusion plate DEP to make light source light irradiated on the back of the diffusion plate DEP, and a reflector installed face to face with the backs of a plurality of the cold-cathode fluorescent lamps CFL to make the light source light irradiated from a plurality of the cold-cathode fluorescent lamps CFL reflected on the back of the diffusion plate DEP. A plurality of the cold-cathode fluorescent lamps CFL are installed so that their arrangement spaces in the center part corresponding to the center part of the display screen of the display panel are made narrower than the peripheral part corresponding to the peripheral part of the display screen, and are also installed so that the spaces between a plurality of the cold-cathode fluorescent lamps CFL and the diffusion plate DEP are wider in the center part than in the peripheral part. Thereby, luminance in the center part of the display screen can be enhanced and uniform luminance on the display screen can be achieved.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent contradiction between systems before and after switching by notifying the contents of a switch instruction from a terminal, which receives the switch instruction from one system, to the other system. CONSTITUTION:A host computer 1 monitors a response to diagnosis to a host computer 2 and when any response is not given even after the lapse of a minitoring time, it is decided that there is a fault in the host computer 2. Then, the switch instruction is sent to a terminal 3. When the terminal 3 receiving the switch instruction is not connected with the switching source host computer 2, the accept of switching is immediately sent to the host computer 1. When the terminal is under connection with the switching source host computer 2, the notification of switching is sent to the switching source host computer 2, operation waits for the end of uncompleted work and the accept of switching is sent. When the host computer 2 is recovered, the host computer 2 sends the switch instruction to the terminal in order to return the work to the host computer 2 side and the terminal receiving the switch instruction sends the notification of switching to the host computer 1. When the uncompleted processing is finished, the accept of switching is responded. Thus, terminal switching and switch return processing can be executed between the host computers while confirming there is no contradiction between the host computer and terminal.
