    • PURPOSE:To prevent contradiction between systems before and after switching by notifying the contents of a switch instruction from a terminal, which receives the switch instruction from one system, to the other system. CONSTITUTION:A host computer 1 monitors a response to diagnosis to a host computer 2 and when any response is not given even after the lapse of a minitoring time, it is decided that there is a fault in the host computer 2. Then, the switch instruction is sent to a terminal 3. When the terminal 3 receiving the switch instruction is not connected with the switching source host computer 2, the accept of switching is immediately sent to the host computer 1. When the terminal is under connection with the switching source host computer 2, the notification of switching is sent to the switching source host computer 2, operation waits for the end of uncompleted work and the accept of switching is sent. When the host computer 2 is recovered, the host computer 2 sends the switch instruction to the terminal in order to return the work to the host computer 2 side and the terminal receiving the switch instruction sends the notification of switching to the host computer 1. When the uncompleted processing is finished, the accept of switching is responded. Thus, terminal switching and switch return processing can be executed between the host computers while confirming there is no contradiction between the host computer and terminal.

For the terminal equipment 3 set at a commencing state, the transfer window 6b is set at a closed state. The above results are informed to the computer 1b in waiting by displaying the detail of opening/closure of each transfer window. In such a way, it is possible to perform the data transmission/reception processing between the terminal equipment 3 set at the non-commencing state and the computer 1b in waiting.
