    • PURPOSE:To adjust refractive index between the main agent and bride agent which form a bonding agent in order to prevent generation sparcle and improve picture quality by using unsaturated ester as the bride agent of bonding agent which is used for bonding a non-reflective transparent plate to the face plate portion. CONSTITUTION:The bonding agent 3' used for bonding the non-reflective transparent plate 4 to the face plate of CRT contains unsaturated polyester main chain (refractive index: 1.50) as the main agent, stylene (refractive index: 1.54) as the bridge agent and unsaturated ester which has double coupling within the molecules (refractive index: 1.45). Thereby, polymerization of only the discrete stylene is prevented, production of polystylene (refractive index: 1.55 or more) is interfared and stylene and unsaturated ester are polymerized. As a result, the refractive index of this polymer becomes about 1.504 and it is adjusted to a value near to the refractive index of 1.50 of the unsaturated polyester main chain. Therefore, difference of refractive indices within the bonding agent 3' can be eliminated, generation of sparcle generated by difference of refractive indices can be prevented and high quality picture can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To adjust difference in refractive indices between the main agent and bridge agent which form the bonding agent and obtain high quality picture by defining the refractive index of the bonding agent for bonding non-reflective transparent plate to the face plate. CONSTITUTION:The bonding agent 3' for bonding the non-reflective transparent plate 4 to the face plate 2 of CRT contains the unsaturated polyester main chain of about 65wt%, stylene of about 25wt% and unsaturated ester of about 10wt% and contents of these are adequately selected to the overall refractive index of he bonding agent 3' is set within the range of 1.48-1.53. Namely, when the refractive index of bonding agent 3' becomes lower than 1.48, the bonding agent 3' changes to milky-white in color and moreover when the refractive index exceeds 1.53, the sparcle is generated. Thereby, generation of sparcle can be prevented and high quality picture can be obtained.

CONSTITUTION:Content of unsaturated ester of bridge agent is adjusted to the range of 5-15wt% so that viscocity of bonding agent 3', before it is hardened, for bonding the non-reflective transparent plate 14 to the face plate 2 of the CRT is within the range of 1.5-6.0. The bonding work for the face plate 2 and non-reflective transparent plate 4 can be done esily and productivity and bonding property can also be improved by adjusting viscocity of unsaturated ester to the range of 2.0-3.0 at 25 deg.C.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To discharge the decomposition gas generated at the time of baking and to prevent a blister phenomenon and the reduction of brightness by forming more cracks at the side face portion than at the upper section of a phosphor layer on a material reflecting film. SOLUTION: A metal reflecting film 9 is formed at the upper face section and side face section 4b of a phosphor layer. Cracks 12 for releasing the decomposition gas generated during the baking process of an organic film resin are formed on the metal reflecting film 9, and more cracks 12 exist at the side face section 4b than at the upper face section 4a of the phosphor layer 4. The cracks 12 formed along the side face section 4b in particular are preferably formed at the position not reaching the opening of a black matrix layer 8. If the cracks 12 are formed in the range where the black matrix layer 8 is formed, a good image is displayed without reducing the brightness of the image when the image on a panel outer face is observed. The transmission factor of all cracks 12 formed on the metal reflecting film 9 is calculated as 0.1-1%.

    • PURPOSE: To provide a color cathode-ray tube having an inside surface reflection preventive means which can be reproduced and can be inexpensively formed without degrading the inside surface reflection preventive function. CONSTITUTION: A light reflecting film 15 composed of an ultra fine particle film of a metallic compound having a particle diameter of 0.1 to 27μm and a high refractive index is formed so as to contact with an inside surface of a face plate 4 of a color cathode-ray tube, and a large number of black matrixes 16 are formed on its light reflecting film 15, and a red phosphor layer 17R, a green phosphor layer 17G and a blue phosphor layer 17B are respectively alternately formed on the light reflecting film 15 between the respective black matrixes 16. In external light projected on the face plate 4, a part is reflected by an outside surface of the face plate 4, and a residual part permeates in the face plate 4, and is made incident on the light reflecting film 15. In the light reflecting film 15, incident light is scattered by an un ultra fine particle of a metallic compound having a high refractive index, and a light component again penetrating in the inside direction of the face plate 4 is almost eliminated.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate a defect of the picture screen from the lens effect resulting from the styrene single polymerization, and also avoid the interface break away from the panel and the generation of resin cracks, even though an unsaturated polyester resin is used as a bond, by controlling a (styrene)n- dibutyl fumarate reaction product after a hardening process, between 0.005 and 2.5 wt%. CONSTITUTION:Defects produced by the lens effect when an unsaturated polyester resin is used as a bond can be roughly classified into two types, a hardening unevenness or a linear defect (stria) from the hardening deformation, and a spot defect of the polystyrene produced by the styrene sigle polymerization or the like. In the latter defect case, by controlling the content of (styrene monomer)n-dibutyl fumarate reaction product (n = 2 to 8) after the hardening process, restricting the content 0.005 to 2.5 wt%, a favorable property to prevent the generation of the picture screen defect and as a bond can be obtained. In other words, by setting the content of the hardening agent at 1 to 3 wt%, the hardening temperature at 60 to 120 deg.C, and the hardening time within three hours, for example, the content of the reaction product can be controlled at a desired value.
