摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for engaging a pinion with a ring gear at optimum timing to suppress engagement noise in a vehicle having an idle stop system.SOLUTION: An on-vehicle control device comprises: an automatic stop means for automatically stopping an engine based on an operation state of a vehicle; an automatic start means for controlling a starter to restart the engine in a period from execution of automatic stop of the engine by the automatic stop means to complete stop of the engine; and an engine rotation detection means for detecting or calculating a crank phase or a rotation speed of the engine. The automatic start means determines a control command of the starter at intervals shorter than intervals at which a signal of the engine rotation detection means is updated.

Then, when the rotation speed difference is within a prescribed range, and the change rate of the rotation speed difference is within a prescribed range, the push-out of the pinion gear and electricity-carrying to a starter motor are started.

The idling stop system includes a starter for practicing the transfer of a pinion gear and the drive of a motor separately from each other and a semiconductor switching element for controlling the transfer of the pinion gear and the drive of the motor, and a means by which the control system detects or estimates the reverse rotation of the internal combustion engine in the process in which the rotation of the internal combustion engine is in the course of stopping, and further includes a means for inhibiting the semiconductor switching element from giving instructions to the drive of the motor for a given length of time when having detected or estimated the reverse rotation.
