      SOLUTION: This scroll compressor 1 is furnished with a compression mechanism part 2, a rotating shaft 300 and the self-starting type synchronous motor 600 to drive this rotating shaft. A fixed scroll 100 is furnished with a by-pass passage to return gas in a compression chamber 130 on the compression mechanism part to the suction side, a sliding type valve mechanism 106 to open and close this by-pass passage and a driving spring 109 to energize this valve mechanism to the compression chamber side, and this driving spring is provided projected to the inside of a discharge space from a back surface of the fixed scroll.
