    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing/drying machine in which power consumption is smaller than in an electric heater type washing/drying machine and high humidity and high temperature air may be prevented from being discharged to a room.SOLUTION: A washing/drying machine 1 comprises an outer tub 6; an inner tub 8; ducts 24 and 25; heating means 22, cooling means 21 and blowing means 35 disposed in the ducts 24 and 25; and a cylindrical space 49 provided in a housing 2. In the cylindrical space 49, a magnetically working substance 19 and a magnetic field generator 18 together forming a magnetic refrigerating device 17 are provided. When at least one of the magnetically working substance 19 and the magnetic field generator 18 is moved, a high temperature heating medium is generated in one end portion (with a high temperature) of the magnetic refrigerating device 17 and a low temperature heating medium is generated in the other end portion (with a low temperature). Laundry is dried by allowing drying air to successively circulate through the heating means 22, the outer tub 6, the cooling means 21 and the heating means 22.
