SOLUTION: The food composition is obtained by formulating coenzyme Q10, α-lipoic acid and a ceramide in the food composition. The content ratio of the coenzyme Q10, α-lipoic acid and ceramide is preferably 1:(0.1-10):(0.001-1) expressed in terms of weight ratio. The ceramide is preferably derived from a konjak bulb.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an MMP inhibitor (matrix metalloproteinase inhibitor) inhibiting the decomposition of collagen constituting the periodontal soft tissue and suppressing the breakdown of periodontal tissue, thereby preventing or ameliorating periodontal diseases.
      SOLUTION: MMP inhibiting action is developed by including lactoferrin in liposome. The breakdown of a periodontal tissue, especially periodontal soft tissue can be suppressed by orally administering the inclusion product. An oral composition can be prepared by forming the MMP inhibitor in a pharmaceutical form. The use of the inhibitor in the form of a food composition or a medical composition among oral compositions is especially preferable.
