摘要： PURPOSE: To make it possible to simultaneously clean the outer peripheral surface and end faces of a ferrule with ease and simplicity at the time of an operation to connect an optical connector thereto. CONSTITUTION: A sleeve-shaped ferrule cleaning part 22 having a ferrule insertion port 23a and a through-hole 23b is freely vertically movably disposed with elastic materials below this through-hole 23b. A supply reel 32 wound with a tape-shaped cleaner 34 having flexibility is disposed and the unused part of the cleaner 34 is let off by a prescribed length and is exposed on the ferrule insertion port 23a. The outer peripheral surface of the ferrule comes into contact with the cleaner 34 and the end faces of the ferrule comes into contact with the elastic materials via the cleaner when the ferrule is inserted into the through-hole 23b from the ferrule insertion port 23a from above the unused part of the exposed cleaner 34. A take-up reel for taking up the cleaner 34 after the outer peripheral surface and end faces of the ferrule are cleaned within the sleeve-shaped cleaning part 22 is provided.

The outer peripheral surface from the front end to the deep part of the ferrule 32a of an optical connector 32 to be cleaned is surely cleaned by two pieces of the unused tape-like cleaning elements 13, 13a when the ferrule 32a is inserted into the through-hole from a ferrule insertion port 12a of the sleeve-shaped ferrule cleaning part 12 in the state of inserting the cleaning elements 13, 13a into the through-hole from the insertion port 12a side of the sleeve-shaped ferrule cleaning part 12.

The 1st and 2nd case parts 11, 12 are connected so as to be opened/closed with a hinge and can be opened/closed by the one-touch operation of an opening/closing mechanism 14 arranged on the side part of the device 10 which is the opposite side to the hinge side. Thereby when the 1st and 2nd case parts 11, 12 are opened, a used cleaning tape can be taken out and a feeding side reel around which an unused cleaning tape is wound can be loaded. Consequently a part to be practically disposed is only the used cleaning tape.

摘要： PURPOSE:To realize an elastic body accurately cheaply by insertion-holding a shaft on a mold having a through hole with the same diameter as a rod-shaped shaft and the hole of a large diameter part, and aligning it by a jig, and then pouring an elastic material thereinto in the form of placing the large diameter part upward, finally, removing residual elastic material therefrom after curing. CONSTITUTION:A shaft 4 is inserted into a mold main body that has a through hole 11 with nearly the same diameter as the rod-shaped shaft 4 and a large diameter part 12 at the tip part thereof, and then the tip part 41 of the shaft 4 is aligned by the projection 21 of a jig 2 from the mold surface 13 on the side of the large diameter part 12 to a predetermined position. After removing the jig 2 therefrom and mounting an encircling jig 3 thereon, an elastic material 5 is poured and then cured therein in the form of placing the mold surface 13 upward. In order to shorten the curing time, the elastic material 5 is of an optical setting type, and lights 6 are irradiated thereonto. The jig 3 is disengaged and residual elastic body 53 is severed off by a cutting jig 7, furthermore, the rear end of the shaft 4 is extruded from the underside of the through hole 11, thereby integrally dislodging the shaft 4 and the elastic body tip part 51. By the reasons mentioned above, the outer diameter and thickness of the elastic body tip part 51 can be controlled accurately, and the manufacturing time becomes possible to be shortened, and the cost can also be made low thereby.

The need for a precise sleeve 7 having high bore accuracy is eliminated in this way and the need for the operation to match the end faces of the two ferrules 1 in the precise sleeve 7 is eliminated.

The light control member is fitted into the cut part of the optical fiber 5. The notch 4 is formed in the ferrule 2 fitted with the optical fiber 5 in the through-hole 1 by the cutter 31 of the narrow width in this way.

When the ferrule 1 like this is used for a transmission/reception terminal of an optical communication equipment, the ferrule curves at the intermediate cylinder part 5 with external pressure applied to a plug where the ferrule is arrayed by a split sleeve and inserted. Consequently, no deformation is caused in the split sleeve.
