摘要： PURPOSE:To contrive reduction in weight and also to contrive enhancement in rigidity by constituting a cylinder block so that skeletal frames mainly functioning as a strength member and rigid membrane members mainly functioning as a rigid member are integrally provided so as to form a cylinder barrel assembled block. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder block Bc consisting of the principal part of the engine block in a multiple-cylidner engine comprise a cylinder barrel assembled block 7 in which cylinder barrels 101 to 104 having a plurality of cylinder bores 4 are continuously provided. And on the other surface of both the right and left side walls 18 of this cylinder barrel assembled block 7 along the axial direction of the crankshaft, skeletal frames 8 are integrally joined, and also on each outer side surface 24 of the skeletal frames 8, a platelike rigid membrane member 9 is provided to constitute the engine block. And the skeletal frame 8 is so constituted that a plurality of transverse beam frame members 11, a longitudinal beam frame member 16, and pillar frame members are integrally framed in a cubic lattice form.

摘要： PURPOSE:To make a piston ring light in weight and with excellent high temp. strength by forming it from Al alloy matrix having a tensile strength at 300 deg.C over a specified value and ceramic fibers, whose fiber volume fraction shall be specified percentile, and thereby giving a specified value of tensile strength at 300 deg.C. CONSTITUTION:A piston ring is made of a composite material consisting of Al alloy matrix having a tensile strength at 300 deg.C over 10kg/mm and ceramic fibers whose fiber volume fraction is between 3-25%, and it shall have a tensile strength at 300 deg.C over 20kg/mm . This fiber-reinforced piston ring 1 is light, excellent in high temp. strength, and good in producibility with hot extrusion process etc.

摘要： PURPOSE:To secure such a piston that is lighter in weight and high in rigidity as maintaining the rigidity of a skirt part by forming a reinforced rib, connecting two inner circumferential surface themselves at the skirt part at the lower part of a hollowed hole, in the lower part of a piston-pin boss part. CONSTITUTION:In this piston-pin boss part 11, an upper end in a rectangular direction almost orthogonal with an axis of a piston pin is connected to an inner surface of a head part 2, and likewise the lower end is connected to an inner circumferential surface of a skirt part 4 at the lower part of a hollowed hole 9 by a reinforced rib 12 formed in a lower part of the piston-pin boss part 11. With this formation, rigidity of the skirt part 4 is maintained by an upper end of the skirt part 4 in boundary with a ring groove part and the inner circumferential surface of the skirt part 4 at the lower part of the hollowed hole 9 to which the reinforced rib 12 is connected, mainly. Accordingly, extensive lightening for the skirt part 4 around the piston-pin boss part 11 is made possible, and owing to formation of the hollowed hole, a slap sound is kept intact but such a lightweight and high rigidity piston can be constituted as a whole.

摘要： PURPOSE:To disperse resonance frequency so as to reduce noise by setting joints between the outer faces of skeleton frames and a film member in such a way that plural non-jointed parts surrounded by the joints differ in area and shape. CONSTITUTION:An engine block E is provided with skeleton frames 13, 31 forming plural opening parts 23, 23', 36, 36'... disposed in the lattice state on both bilateral sides along the axis of a crankshaft 1, and a panel like film member 14 jointed to the outer faces of the skeleton frames 13, 31 so as to close the respective opening parts 23-36'. The film member 14 is formed by disposing a damping layer 28 between an inner and an outer plates 26, 27. In this case, joints 39, 40 between the outer faces of the skeleton frames 13, 31 and the film member 14 are so set that plural non-jointed parts 41-417 surrounded by the joints 39, 40 differ in area and shape. Resonant frequency elements are thereby dispersed to reduce noise.
