    • PURPOSE:To improve the roundness of a stone by projecting on the inner peripheral face of a stone chip a plural number of very small mount with their seats positioned at a constant radial distance from the outer peripheral face of the stone chip, having these seats brought into contact with a metal disk and letting the inner peripheral face of the stone chip stuck on the metal disk. CONSTITUTION:A plural number of very small mounts 7 having their seats 7a positioned at a constant radial distance from the outer peripheral face of a stone chip 3 are projected on the inner peripheral face of the stone chip 3. A single stone layer is formed by bringing the seats 7a into contact with a metal disk 1 and sticking the inner peripheral face of the stone chip 3 on the metal disk 1. Since the mounts 7 allow concentric and high precision positioning and adhesion of stone chips 3 on the metal disk 1, the roundness of the stone can be improved. Furthermore, the peeling force acting on the adhesion plane due to the centrifugal force applied to the stone chips can be lessened to permit a high speed grinding as the stone layer consists of a single layer with a minimally required thickness only.

The annular groove 35 is communicated with a throttle member 31, which is located on the circumference of the end surface of the flange 30, through a communication hole 35a. The throttle member 31 is pushed by a projection 32b of a link member 32 at the time of fastening with the fastening bolt 32a to prevent a fall thereof.

The member 28 does not rotate and engages with 24 by means of an engaging mechanism 26. And when it is moved in AB direction by a cylinder mechanism 14, its tip enters in and exits from an inclined bush 32 and changes the position of the head member 34 in DE direction. A holder member 28 is mounted on the head member 34 by a clamp mechanism 36, and is attached and detached as a result of the position change in AB direction caused by the unclamp mechanism 16 of an unclamp rod 30 placed inside rod members.

    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to automate the first infeed of a grinding wheel to a workpiece to be ground with an exchanged grinding wheel by detecting by the sensor provided to a dress device that a dresser is brought into contact with the outer periphery of the grinding wheel to measure the outer diameter of the grinding wheel by use of the feed amount of the grinding wheel. CONSTITUTION:A dresser 46 is cross fed by a servo motor 49 after exchanging grinding wheels and positioned at an original position D0 above a grinding wheel 31. In the next step, when fed downward by a servo motor 48 and brought into contact with the other periphery of the grinding wheel 31 making a servo motor 5 become ON state, the dresser 46 stops its longitudinal feed according to the detected signal. And the radius R1 of a grinding wheel 3/1 is operated and measured on the basis of the longitudinal feed amount from the original position D0 of the dresser 46 to a present position D1. Then, the measured radius R of the grinding wheel 3/1 is judged to be proper or not, and if it is proper, dressing is performed, and if it is not, the reexchange of a grinding wheel is commanded and the grinding wheel 3/1 is exchanged to a grinding wheel 3/2. Thus, the diameter of the grinding wheel can be measured quickly and exactly after its exchange and the infeed of the grinding wheel can be automated.
