    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a proper welding condition by which the generation quantity of spatters is little from a welding current and the waveform of an arc voltage by paying our attention to a droplet transfer form. SOLUTION: The stability factor n/N of a droplet transfer is found by recording a welding current 4 and an arc voltage 5 on a recorder 7, and by counting the number of times N of a short circuit generated in a unit time and the number of times (n) of an instantaneous short circuit from the waveform of the arc voltage 5. These operations are performed by plural numbers of times by changing the arc voltage at some points. By comparing the plural stability factors n/N of the droplet transfer one another, the arc voltage is selected so that the stability factor n/N of the droplet transfer falls into a range of 0.4 or below in a low current area showing a short circuit transfer and the stability factor n/N of the droplet transfer falls into a range of 0.4 or below and 0.7 or over in a high current area which is a globular transfer. A proper welding condition by which the generation quantity of spatters is little when using a welding robot, can be easily selected.
