    • PURPOSE:To reduce a fuel consumption rate, by providing an arithmetic control circuit adapted to control opening/closing timing of a plurality of control valves for a Diesel engine, and by driving the valve to open and close respectively in response to the valve opening/closing instruction signals read out correspondingly to a rotation angle detected. CONSTITUTION:A signal indicating a revolution angle of crankshaft 7 of a Diesel engine 1 is input to an electronic control circuit 10 and a F/V converter 11 via an encoder 8, while a signal indicating various engine operating conditions is input to a central processing unit (CPU) 14 via an A/D converter 12. The CPU 14 computes optimum opening/closing timings for an intake and exhaust valves 4a and 6a, a fuel valve 5a and the like, a signal preset for every revolution angle is written to a memory of control circuit 10 and the preset signal thus stored is read out to send a signal instructive of opening/closing drivings of each control valve, correspondingly to a signal indicating a detected revolution angle. In this manner, the valves are controlled to open and close at optimum timings, thereby reducing a fuel consumption rate.

    • PURPOSE:To provide an open type heat engine using hydrogen as energy source and produced steam as operating fluid, and which never presents exhaust gas polution problems, permits ready transportation and storage of fuel and has excellent energy efficiency. CONSTITUTION:Liquid hydrogen within a tank 1 is forced by a pump 2 into a heat exchanger 3 where it is heated by heat exchange with atmospheric air, and then it is thermally gasified in a regenerator 4 and supplied to an iternal combustion engine 5. Meanwhile, liquid oxygen within a tank 6 is forced by a pump 7 through a heat exchanger 8 to a gasifaction regenerator 9, and thence it is supplied in the gas phase to the engine 5. Thus, hydrogen as fuel is subjected to combustion with oxygen as oxidizer to produce steam. Thus, steam is used as operating gas in the engine, and then it is supplied together with added dilution gas to regenerators 4 and 9 and a cooler 11 through recirculation ducts 10, whereby waste heat and dilution gas are recovered.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce a discharge amount of harmful exhaust from an engine in a tunnel or the like, by providing a three-way valve in the downstream side of a circulating passage from a pressure regulating valve and selecting operations of the engine optionally from that in the atmosphere to that by regenerative cycle. CONSTITUTION:There are provided an exhaust valve 11, emitting exhaust gas by communicating an exhaust gas circulating passage 3 to a side of the atmosphere, and an intake valve 12, located immediately before a feed air port 1b and sucking the atmospheric air by communicating the exhaust gas circulating passage 3 to a side of the atmosphere, in the downstream side of the circulating passage 3 from a pressure regulative valve 6. Said intake valve 12 is constituted by a three-way valve closing a section of the exhaust gas circulating passag 3 between the exhaust valve 11 and the intake valve when the intake valve is opened for intake operation. Accordingly, operation of an engine in the atmosphere is performed by closing an oxygen flow rate control valve 5 and opening the exhaust valve 11 and the intake valve 12, while operation of the engine by regenerative cycle is performed by opening the oxygen flow rate control valve 5 and opening the exhaust valve 11 and the intake valve 12.
