    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to prevent the degradation in C/N even when many times of rewriting and super-high resolution reproducing are executed by providing the surfaces of substrates with thin films for information recording as mask layers and providing the surfaces thereof with protective layers and reflection layers and providing the boundary between these reflection layers with diffusion preventive layers. SOLUTION: The protective layer 2 is formed on the polycarbonate substrate 1 and the recording film 3 is formed on the protective layer 2. Next, an intermediate layer 4 is formed on the recording film and, thereafter, the first reflection layer 5, the diffusion preventive layer 6 and the second reflection layer 7 are formed thereon, by which a first disk member is obtd. Next, a substrate 1' consisting of the material similar to the material of the substrate 1 of the first disk member is stuck via an adhesive layer 8 thereto to obtain the disk-shaped information recording medium. According to such constitution, the layer materials are diffused or are brought into reaction between the first reflection layer and the second reflection layer and a change is induced in thermal conductivity and optical constant, by which the degradation in C/N is prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent a crack from being produced and a recording film from flowing by a method wherein a protective layer which is composed of at least one out of an inorganic substance and an organic substance whose density is at a specific ratio in a bulk state is formed so as to be adjacent to a thin film for information recording. CONSTITUTION:At a recording medium, a thin film 3, for information recording use, which is changed by being irradiated with a beam for recording use is formed on a substrate 1. At the medium, a protective layer 2 which is composed of at least one out of an inorganic substance and an organic substance whose density is at a density of 60 to 90% in a bulk state is formed. It is preferable that an oxide, a selenide, a sulfide or a nitride whose thermal conductivity is at 10 to 30w/m/K and whose film thickness is at 50 to 500nm is used as a main component for the protective layer 2. Especially, a material which contains 5 to 30mol% of Ta2O5 and whose residual part is composed of ZnS or ZnSe is preferable. Thanks to the protective layer 2, the recording medium is resistant to a tensile external force and heat generated at the recording film 3 by being irradiated with the beam is diffused.
