    • PURPOSE:To obtain a desired extremely thin plating film by a method in which a voltage is applied to a hot galvanizing material ingot as a wiper in such a way as to keep the surface for wiping off excessive hot galvanizing material film of the wiper in molten state. CONSTITUTION:A pair of blocked wipers 4 of a hot galvanizing material are provided in mutually facing manner between the surface 1A of a hot galvanizing bath 1 and a gas wiping nozzle 3 in such a way that they can contact with both sides of a metal strip 2 being pulled out. A voltage from a voltage supplier 6 is applied to the wiper 4 through a lead wire 5 in such a way as to energized between the wiper 4 and the metal strip 2, whereby keeping the surface for wiping off excessive hot glavanizing material film of the wiper 4 in molten state. The surface for wiping off excessive hot galvanizing material film is brought into contact with both sides of the metal strip 2 to wipe off excessive hot galvanizing material film 7.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the strength against oscillation of a roll support frame for synchronizing rolls effectively, by extending the parts including the opposited positions of furnace shells for the purpose of supporting and fixing said frame inward with respect to an inside furnace side. CONSTITUTION:Brackets 18, 18 extending mutually inward with respect to an inside furnace 11 side are provided in the opposed parts of furnace shells 13 including the positions for supporting and fixing a roll support frame 15, and receiving seats 16, 16 are provided respectively on the brackets 18, 18. The results are that the supporting and fixing parts of the frame 15 are supported and fixed between the seats 16 and 16 in the upper parts of the refractory layer 12 nearer the inner side than the inside surfaces of the furnace shells 13, 13. Therefore, the distance between the supporting and fixing positions is reduced to a distance L2 as compared to the distance L1 between the dotted line parts in the prior art. While the strength against oscillation of the frame 15 increases, the shape and weight of the frame 15 do not increase, and rather the size and weight are reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the wear of the bearing, and to prevent the bearing from damage due to the meandering movement of the strip, by specifying the diameter of the journal of the sink roller for curling and conveying the strip to be plated, to be above 0.5 times of the outer diameter of the roller, at the molten zinc plating apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The sink roller 2 for curling and conveying the strip 1 to be plated is arranged within the molten zinc plating bath. The roller 2 is attached to the frame 4 through the bearing 3; the bearing 3 possesses the diameter larger than the outer diameter of the sink roller 2 and acts as the oil film bearing. Hereupon, the diameter of the bearing 3 fittable to the diameter of the journal of the sink roller 2 is specified to be at least 0.5 times of the outer diameter of the sink roller 2; thereby, the surface pressure of the oil film bearing is reduced, and the speed of outer surface is increased. Owing to this reduction of the surface pressure and the increase of the speed of outer surface, the wear of the bearing 3 can be reduced, so that the fall of operational efficiency and the increase of operational expenditure and the product cost, are prevented. Moreover, the meandering of the strip depending on the difference in the amount of wear of the bearing can be prevented.
