    • PURPOSE:To previously detect a fault in the main parts of a sizing press device and to prevent an accident by detecting the loaded state and movement of the parts and performing calculation after inputting detecting signals, and then, deciding a calculated result. CONSTITUTION:A fixed correlative relation exists among the loads FWi applied to respective supporting wheel 4 and 5 of an inner and outer blocks 3 and 6 of the pressing force FPi and torque T applied to four screws 8, clank position alpha, and a width rolling reduction DELTAW when a sizing pressing device makes normal width rolling reduction works. Therefore, the expression of the correlative relation is found beforehand by always measuring the force and torque. The expression thus found is used in an arithmetic circuit 17 and a calculated result of the circuit is compared with a value obtained in a normal operating state at a deciding circuit 18. When the difference between the calculated result and reference value exceeds an allowable value, the state is decided as abnormal and an abnormal signal is outputted from an alarming device 19. Therefore, the operator of this machine can detects a faulty state before an accident occurs and can make appropriate maintenance works.

    • PURPOSE:To form the rolled material in good shape free from the camber, by giving an offset to the center axes of a couple of work rolls from the plane connecting the center axes of adjoining rolls, and by arranging the roll chock pusher for pressing above-stated work rolls respectively to the chock holder. CONSTITUTION:At the rolling mill provided in its housing 8 with at least one couple of work rolls 2, 3, and the chocks 13, 14, for holding these work rolls 2, 3, an offset is given to the center axes of the work rolls 2, 3, from the plane connecting center axes of the intermediate rolls 4, 5, to opposite sides, that is the roll 2 to the material 1 feed-in side and the roll 3 to the run-out side; hereupon, the work rolls 2, 3, are held by the chocks 13, 14, which are pressed to the material 1 feed-in side and to the run-out side by the directly acting cylinders 17, 18, internally installed in the chock holders 15, 16, arranged within the housing 8; the circumferential speed of the roll 2 is made faster than that of the roll 3. By the present rolling mill, the rolled material in good shape free from the camber can be obtained without damaging the operatability.
