摘要： PURPOSE:To enhance the sealing ability of a seal ring, by disposing a plurality of seal ring pieces in a circular groove formed in a casing so as to form them in a ring-like shape, and by securing the seal ring pieces to the casing with a bonding agent. CONSTITUTION:A sealing ring 2 has four split ring pieces 2' which are disposed in a circular groove formed in a bisplit type casing 8 and which are secured to the casing 8 with a bonding agent 9. Gaps h1, h2 are formed between the bonding section of the casing 8 and the seal ring piece 2', and the bonding agent 9 is filled in the gaps 9 so that the seal ring pieces 2' may be secured to the casing 8. Accordingly, the sealing end face of the sealing ring may be previously formed like an integral ring form, thereby it may be previously formed like an integral ring form, thereby it is possible to enhance the sealing ability of the seal ring.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a shaft sealing device of good water sealing performance by forming a seal ring in slide contact with the flange of a rotary shaft from an elastic or a flexible member, and fitting a support member to the inside of the seal ring for supporting the weight of a seal case itself. CONSTITUTION:A seal ring in slide contact with the flange 2 of a rotary shaft 1 is formed from a flexible member 3A and the inside thereof is fitted with a support member 2a for supporting the weight of a seal case 5 itself. According to the aforesaid constitution, the flexible member 3A is made in close contact with the slide surface of the flange 2 and stable water sealing performance becomes available regardless of seal surface precision. Also, the weight of the seal case 5 itself is supported by the support member 2a. Consequently, seal surface pressure can be set to a predetermined value and stable water sealing performance becomes available for a long time.

摘要： PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of a seal ring by accommodating the seal ring into a ductile member and installing said seal ring onto a seal case. CONSTITUTION:The shaft seal device consists of a seal casing 16 surrounding the outer periphery of a flange 11, seal case 7 which is positioned inside the seal casing 16 and used for accommodating a seal ring 10, and a coil spring 9 for pressing the seal case 7. The seal ring 10 is accommodated into a ductile member 13 (e.g., bronze) and installed onto the seal case 7. Therefore, even if an impact force due to the vibration and variation of hydraulic pressure during operation acts onto the seal ring 10, the breakage of the seal ring 10 is prevented, since the seal ring 10 is protected by the ductile member 13.

When a shaft sealing device is assembled, therefore, it is possible to mount the cases 17A and 17B first on the seal case 10 and then fix a whole to the seal casing 9, thereby simplifying assembly work very much. Also, the machining of the slide surface of the seal ring 12 may be carried out after the mounting thereof to the cases 17A and 17B, thereby enabling the improvement of assembly precision and sealing quality.

The amount of leak from such clearance as in the above, if assumed L for a length of the water-seal part, is proportional to the cube of the clearance and inversely proportional to the length L. The clearance of the second stage water-seal part is to be generally set to about G5=(G4 + 0.1mm). In case of increasing a number of stages of the water- seal part likely as third, fourth, and so on, those of the clearance of the water-seal part will be made equal to the clearance G5 of the second stage water-seal part. In such way, a construction of the clearance G4 of the first stage water-seal part, of the place to be measured, to minimum amount makes the work of inspection and surveillance only required for this part, capable of eliminating a necessity of inspecting other water-seal part.
