    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver that can select a channel while confirming contents of programs of other station (a component program on the different channel) in real time. SOLUTION: The television receiver is provided with a mode changeover means that selects an ordinary mode where a video image corresponding to single video information is displayed or a multi-screen mode where video images corresponding to a plurality of different video image information sets are displayed on one screen while being separated into a plurality of display areas, an identification display means that visibly identifies a display area selected among a plurality of the display areas from the other display areas in the multiple-screen mode, and a moving picture display means that displays the video image on the display area visibly selected from the other display areas at least by the identification display means in a moving picture. The mode changeover means selects the ordinary mode from the multi-screen mode based on a confirmation operation, the video image having been displayed in the moving picture form is displayed in the ordinary mode after the changeover with the moving picture display means before the confirmation operation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the operation required for a television receiver by providing a graphic display means displaying information from a central processing means onto a screen and a teletext information processing means converting the teletext information into a television signal and outputting the signal to the television receiver. SOLUTION: An RF signal received from an RF signal input terminal 106 is demodulated and the result is given to a 1st signal changeover circuit 109. The circuit 109 selects a signal outputted from a tuner 107 or a signal received from a video input terminal. A signal compression circuit 111 reduces the signal. The reduced signal is given to a 2nd signal changeover circuit 112 and two signals or over are synthesized on a same screen. On the other hand, the signal outputted from the circuit 109 is given to a teletext information processing circuit 114, which decodes teletext information multiplexed on a prescribed area of an input signal and provides an output. The decoded teletext information is outputted on a screen of a cathode ray tube 113.

    • PURPOSE:To provide the channel selection device for a television receiver by which channel selection is easily implemented while confirming simultaneously a video image content of other station. CONSTITUTION:In the channel selection of a television receiver, video images a-i of plural stations are reduced and displayed on a screen simultaneously through split, and after a cursor 1 displayed on the screen is moved, a station of a video image indicated by the cursor 1 is selected. Furthermore, a picture memory and two tuning systems are incorporated in the television receiver and the two tuning systems reduce video data of plural stations sequentially in the case of channel selection and sends the result to the picture memory and the data stored in the memory are displayed. Furthermore, the video image of two stations among video images of plural stations are displayed in real time as a motion picture and the moving pattern station is revised by the movement of the cursor displayed on the screen and after an object station is decided, the station is confirmed to make the channel selection complete. Thus, the channel selection is attained while confirming simultaneously the video image content of other station.
