摘要： PURPOSE: To efficiently assign a work area by chaining assignable areas of each group in the ascending or descending order of address and retrieving and reassigning an assignable area meeting a request length for work area acquisition. CONSTITUTION: When a work area acquisition request is received, an empty area group of the chain of areas meeting the request length is determined, and the area meeting the request length is retrieved from the head of the chain, and it is disengaged from the chain when being found. The total length of used areas and that of empty areas are calculated and are stored in entries (A) 1a and (B) 1b. If the area meeting the request length is not found as the result of empty area group chain retrieval, chain retrieval is performed for a group of a chain of areas longer than the request length, and the area longer than the request length is disengaged from the chain when being found, and the area meeting the request length is obtained by division and is transferred to the request source. The empty area group to which the remaining area should be chained is determined to chain this area in a pertinent position.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which does not assume that a telegram transmission time of a job for transmitting a service demand and receiving a response in performance evaluation in a client/server system is matched with a system clock of a client machine and a server machine and measures without using equipment such as a LAN analyzer. SOLUTION: A time from transmission of a service demand to reception of a reply is measured on the side of a client, a time from reception of the service demand to transmission of a reply is measured on the side of a server, these are embedded in a reply telegram and transmitted to a client. By doing this, a difference between the time from the transmission of the service demand to the reception of a reply measured on the client side and the time from the reception of the service demand to the transmission of the reply measured on the server side enables a time to transmit the telegram back and force to be calculated.
