    • PURPOSE:To facilitate operation analysis of a faulty device by selecting a specific device to apply event recording and applying event recording in a timing proper to a recorded event. CONSTITUTION:When a channel for event recording is designated from a service processor 13 or a microprocessor 20, an event applying event recording is selected by the low-order 4-bit of a control word in a register 3 and the result is outputted via a signal line 17. On the other hand, a trigger generating condition is selected by the high-order 2-bit of the control word in the register 3 and the circuit 12 generates a trigger signal and outputs it in the corresponding timing. A register 15 corresponding to the channel is made enable by using a trigger signal and a channel selection signal obtained by encoding the value of a register 21 and after the signal of the event sent via the signal line 17 is latched to the register 15, the result is stored in an event recording area of a storage device 19 via the signal line 18.

    • PURPOSE:To quickly start the execution of a data transfer microprogram and to improve the throughput of a data transfer by making the value of a starting pointer larger than the value of an end pointer when an error is detected. CONSTITUTION:At a channel control part 200, a starting pointer generating circuit 205 and an end pointer generating circuit 206 are provided. When the error of a starting pointer 202 or an end pointer 203 received from a channel device 100 is detected by an error detecting circuit 204, generation and output are executed so that the value of the pointer 202 is larger than the value of the pointer 203. Thus, when at a storing control part 300, the value of a pointer 301 received from the control part 200 is larger than the value of a pointer 302, the instruction that the byte to be written is absent is issued and the data transfer is executed. Consequently, since a data transfer microprogram can quickly start the execution without writing the data to the erroneous address of a memory 500, the throughput of the data transfer can be improved.
