    • PURPOSE: To improve iron removing performance of a desalting tower for condensed water by draining water in the stage of transferring resin after backwashing or regeneration by providing a water draining line to the bottom of a wedge wire screen of a desalting tower of condensed water.

      4 12 in a cation exchange resin tower 8 is mixed in a resin mixing tower 14 with anion exchange resin regenerated with NaOH 13 in an anion exchange resin tower 11 and transferred to a condensed water desalting tower 5 again. Water is drained from a water draining line 21 while transferring the slurry of the resin in water in order to prevent separation of the resin mixture to cation and anion exchange resin by the difference of the specific weight in the condensate desalting tower. The water drained from the water draining line 21 in this case is transferred to a waste disposal system. The amt. of the drain is controlled by the degree of opening of a flow rate control valve 24 disposed to the water draining line 21 by the signal 23 from a water gauge 23.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the introduction of clads into a reactor and to avoid a radioactive contamination which might be caused by an accident of an installation, by splitting corrosion products from a used resin of a desalination tower in a condensation cleaning system of an atomic power plant, and removing the separated corrosion products only. CONSTITUTION:A resin is carried from a desalination tower 1 through a conduit 3 to a separating tower 5. In this transportation, the resin flows as an aqueous slurry through a spiral conduit, so that frictions between each resin grain are increased enough to mechanically split clads. The resin slurry suspending the clads is then carried to the resin-clad separating tower 5, where the slurry is rotated as a whirlpool stream by sloshing water lines 6, 7. Consequently, the clads centrifugally float upwards in the separating tower due to the specific gravity difference between the resin and the clads. The floating clads are discharged to a waste disposer through a draining line 8 attached to the upper part of the tower. On the other hand, the regenerated resin is returned through a regenerated resin carrying line 9 to the spiral conduit for splitting clads in the conduit, and to the separating tower 5 again for separating the split clads.
