    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reliable slot-in type heat generation resistor type flow measuring instrument which has excellent vibration resistance, and also has structure for preventing a characteristic error caused by heat effect of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The flow measuring instrument comprises: a housing provided between a frame body 4 and a connector 2 and having a support part 3 as a fixing part on a mounting part of a body 15 for forming a fluid passage; flow detection elements 7, 8 held on a frame body side of the housing; and an electronic circuit 6 held on the housing and electrically connected to the flow detection elements and connector. A highly rigid member 22 with higher rigidity than material of a main constituting member of the housing is integrally molded with the support part. The housing is positioned on the fluid passage by at least one projection 23 and a recessed part for receiving the projection provided between the mounting part and the support part.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a decrease in flow velocity at a heating resistor part set at a sub air path and enable highly accurate measurements by providing a hole connecting a main air path and the sub air path at a wall face of the sub air path parallel to a direction of a flow of a main air. SOLUTION: A sub air path 2 is arranged in an air flow rate body 3 forming a main air path 1, with having a heat-generating resistance body 4 and a temperating resistor 5 both electrically connected to a module 7 via a supporting part 6. A hole 8 connecting the sub air path 2 with the main air path 1 is formed at a wall face which is nearly parallel to a direction of a flow of a main air of the sub air path 2 between the heating resistor 4 and an exit of the sub air path 2. A flow velocity of the main air path 1 is higher than a flow velocity at the sub air path 2 in the vicinity of the hole 8, and a larger pressure difference is brought about by the sub air path 2 at openings of the hole 8 than by the main air path 1. The air is sent because of the pressure difference from the sub air path 2 to the main air path 1. As a result, a flow velocity at the heating resistor 4 becomes a total flow velocity of flow velocities at the sub air path 2 and hole 8, that is, the flow velocity is increased.
