    • PURPOSE:To prevent any mis-writing caused by the instant drop of a battery voltage and a sudden noise and the like occurred during EEPROM writing by providing a EEPROM in a serial data transmission type and a battery backup RAM, in a car control device providing CPU. CONSTITUTION:During engine running, the most favorable fuel injection amount and an ignition timing and the like are calculated based on an engine running status and a control parameter is studyed by an aging change, a solid difference and the like so as to memorize to EEPROM 1 in CPU2. Meantime, when the control parameter is written in EEPROM 1, a written data and address are firstly stored in a battery backup RAM 4 temporarily and a written flag is set. Then, the data is written in EEPROM 1 and also whether its written in operation is finished or not is judged and after finish judging, the data is read out from the written same address. The content of EEPROM 1 is compared with the content of the battery backup RAM 4 and its process is finished in the case of the same each other.

    • PURPOSE:To enable an automatic transmission and a manual transmission to be use in common two kinds of control program constant for an automatic transmission and a manual transmission with in the same engine, and discriminating the kind of transmission under the operational condition of the engine. CONSTITUTION:A program control constant for automatic transmission and a program control constant for manual transmission are stored inside the same engine controller. Signals from various kinds of sensors 2, 3 are inputted in a CPU 7 for performing digital process of various kinds of data required for engine rotation via an input/output interface circuit 4, and various kinds of control signals required for the engine rotation are outputted based on these signals in compliance with the program stored in a ROM 5. The kind of transmission is judged by the operational condition, and as a result, the program control constant for the appropriate transmission is used for engine control. Consequently, one of the two kinds of program control constants can be used.

    • PURPOSE:To control a valve-opening time of a solenoid with excellent precision and enhance control ability by a method wherein a detecting circuit for detecting a current flowing in a load and a mechanism for seeking for a time difference between an output of a comparing circuit and an output of a driving circuit are provided and a delay time in which the solenoid becomes nonconducting is measured and corrected. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid SOL having inductance is driven by a power MOSFET TR, and further the power MOSFET TR is driven by a microcomputer CPU provided with built-in ROM & RAM through a resistance R1. A computer COMP has a predetermined threshold level by resistances R2, R3, R4, R5. A time T1 elapsed from a rise time of E1 to a fall time of E3 is a valve- opening time delay of the solenoid SOL. IL starts falling, does not reach 0 at once, and falls up to I2, and it takes a time T2 until E3 reaches L0. The T2 is valve-closing time delay of the solenoid SOL.
