    • PURPOSE:To reduce the content of nitrogen oxides contained in combustion gases, by controlling the feeding method of fuel coal and air, measuring the composition of combustion gases and temperature distribution around a burner, and determining combustion efficiency using said composition of combustion gas. CONSTITUTION:Analysis of combustion-gas composition is conducted by extracting a part of combustion gas before said combustion gas passes through an air heater 54, and analyzing said extracted gas by means of a gas analyzer 41, the result of which is sent to a gas- composition recorder 42. Said result of analysis is compared with signals from a gas- composition setting means 43 by means of a gas-composition comparison means 44 and sent to a central computing means 45. Analysis of temperature distribution is carried out using light received by an image fiber 23 disposed on a burner 10, said light being dispersed by means of a spectroscopic analyzer 46. The result of said analysis is used in a temperature computing means 47 for the calculation of the temperature distribution around the burner, compared with signals from a temperature distribution setting means 48 by means of a temperature distribution comparison means 49, and sent to the central computing means 45, where the state of combustion is judged to determine the degree of swirling of combustion air to be transmitted to a swirl-vane driving means 50 for controlling the dispersion of pulverized coal.

    • PURPOSE: Coarsely crushed coal is combined with a coal with higher Hardgrove index, then subjected to intermediate crushing and final fine crushing to enable the production of coal-water slurry of high concentration with coal-crushing time shortened, crushing power saved.
      CONSTITUTION: The starting coal coarsely crushed is mixed with another coal with high Hardgrove index than that of the starting coal, preferably of more than 50, preferably in an amount less than 50wt%, then subjected to intermediate crushing (less than 300W500 micrometer particle sizes), then fine crushing (less than several to several tens micrometers) to give the objective coal-water slurry. The product shows improved storage stability.

    • PURPOSE:To suppress the generation of NOx with an increased effect and reduce the discharged unburned portion by providing a first nozzle for ejecting pulverized coal and burning it at an excess air factor of over 1 and a second nozzle surrounding the first nozzle and for ejecting pulverized coal and burning it. CONSTITUTION:A pulverized-coal burner comprises nozzles 12, 13 for pulverized coal, a secondary air nozzle 17, a tertiary air nozzle 18, and an igniter 16. By ejection of a greater proportion of pulverized coal for fuel from the pulverized-coal nozzle 12 and secondary air and tertiary air from the secondary air nozzle 17 and the tertiary air nozzle 18 respectively, a primary combustion region 21 with an excess air factor of over 1 is formed at the tip of the burner. The pulverized coal nozzle 13 is formed along the outer periphery of the tertiary air nozzle 18; from this nozzle 13, a fuel mixture whose oxygen content is adjusted to a concentration of 3-5% by volume and composed of discharged gas from the combustion, air, and pulverized coal is ejected so that around the primary combustion region 21 there are formed a secondary combustion region 22 and for oxidation of products of reductive thermal decomposition generated at the combustion region 22 and for reduction of NOx generated at the combustion region 21 a tertiary combustion region 23.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the generation amount of NOX and to improve combustibility of pulverized coal by a method wherein combustion in a low air ratio in which NH3 is produced from a nitrogen compound in pulverized coal is effected at the former stage, and combustion in an air ratio of at least 1 is effected at the latter stage. CONSTITUTION:An auxiliary fuel injection nozzle 9 is arranged, and a flame stabilizer 4 is positioned along the tip of a pulverized coal injection nozzle 1. Pulverized coal is injected in a state, in which pulverized coal is spread in a furnace by means of primary air G1, through a flame stabilizer 4. In this case, the inner side of the flame stabilizer 4 is brought into a negative pressure state, and a part of secondary air G2 injected through a nozzle 2 is drawn in a position inside the pulverized coal and primary air G1 injection nozzle 1. By means of warp plates 5 and 6 positioned at the tips of the nozzles 2 and 3 and inclined at a given angle with the injection directions of the secondary air G2 and tertiary air G3, mixture of most of airs G2 and G3 with a mixture flow of pulverized coal and the primary air G1 at a central part is delayed. Combustion in a low air ratio is effected at the former stage by means of a mixture flow of the primary air and pulverized coal. At the latter stage, the secondary air and tertiary air are mixed together to perform combustion in an air ratio of at least 1.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance an effect of suppressing the generation of NOx by jetting a fuel-air mixed gas containing pulverized coal from a burner, jetting secondary air and tertiary air concentrically from the outer periphery of the burner and forming a primary combustion region and a secondary combustion region to reduce NOx. CONSTITUTION:The subject burner for combustion of pulverized coal comprises pulverized coal nozzles 12, 13 adapted to feed a fuel-air mixed gas composed of pulverized coal and primary air, and secondary and tertiary air nozzles 17, 18. A primary combustion region 21 where combustion is performed with the fuel-air mixed gas and the secondary air in the amount of air for combustion less than a theoretical amount of air is formed in the vicinity of the forward end of the burner, and a secondary combustion region 22 where further combustion of the combustion products from the primary combustion region 21 by tertiary air is formed in the wake of the primary combustion region 21. After ammonia compounds and cyanic compounds have been produced from the N content in coal in addition to NOx in the primary combustion region 21, these nitrified compounds are allowed to react with the combustion gas in the secondary combustion region on reduce NOx. The pulverized coal nozzles 13 are arranged in the outer periphery of the tertiary air nozzles 18.
