    • PURPOSE:To enable facilitation of regulation of a combustion state, by a method wherein flow rates of secondary and tertiary air and the number of swirls are controlled independently from each other. CONSTITUTION:At a point of time when a burner is shifted to a pulverized coal only combustion mode. NOx concentration and O2 concentration at the outlet of a furnace are continuously monitored. Since NOx concentration is influenced by a composition ratio of secondary air 9 and tertiary air 10, the openings of butterfly vanes 11 and 13 are regulate and controlled so that a composition ratio is adjusted to a previously experimentally determined value. It is described in a comparing computer 27 that O2 concentration in exhaust gas is to be based on, for example, 3%. Driving motors 21 and 23 are run through the working of a vane system control device 25 so that O2 concentration is adjusted to a given value, the openings of the butterfly vanes 11 and 13 are regulated, and indication of an O2 monitor is set to 3%. A signal from an NOx concentration monitor 29 is inputted to a comparing computer 27 to compare the NOx concentration with a preset value, the result is transmitted to a combustion monitoring control device 26, driving motors 22 and 24 are run through the working of the vane opening control device 25, and the openings of resistor vanes 12 and 14 are automatically regulated.

    • PURPOSE:To carry out correct measurement of the combustion state and combustion control of high accuracy and quick response based on this measurement by utilizing light emitted from the flame, separating the light into an arbitrary specific wavelength zone, and discriminating the combustion state of the combustion flame with non-contact from the luminescent strength and luminescent pattern of the light to control the combustion flame. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from a flame 650 is collected in a light pick-up device 660, and is introduced to a spectroscope 680 by means of an optical fiber 670. The spectroscope 680 is provided with a converter which converts light signals relative to the luminescent strength and the luminescent pattern into electrical signals. These signals are amplified by an amplifier 690, and introduced into a controller 700. The output signal from the amplifier 670 is compared in a discriminator 710 with an output signal from a memory device 720 which stores the luminescent strength and the luminescent pattern in an arbitrary specific wavelength region at the optimum combustion state time as electrical signals. The output signal from the result of comparison is introduced to a controller 730 outputting a control signal for controlling the combustion state of the flame.
