    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce redundant buffers and to obtain an economic ATM multiplex device by making functions for controlling ATM cells to be common in respective line corresponding parts, analyzing the structure of SAR-PUD header and transferring data whose isochronism is guaranteed to the line corresponding parts. SOLUTION: A header analysis part 10 analyzes header information on an ATM cell inputted from a highway 2, identifies the interface of the output destination of the cell and transfers it to a cell buffer 20. The cell buffer 20 accumulates the inputted ATM cells for respective interfaces 6-1 to 6-N becoming output paths and transfers them to an AAL processing part 30 in accordance with a scheduling condition. Line corresponding parts 5-1 to 5-N extract data from a time slot allocated to the interface of the output path of data and execute processings for the respective interfaces 6-1 to 6-N. Thus, the fluctuation of the ATM cell, which is generated in a transmission section, can be absorbed by the cell buffer 20.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration of other ATM cell transfer quality by using an existing asynchronous transfer mode ATM switch and realize switching of an AAL(ATM adaptation layer) 2 connection level. SOLUTION: A cell transfer control section 113-1 (input side ATM channel adaptor section) is provided with an ATM demultiplexer section 113-I-1 that extracts and demultiplexes only an AAL2 cell from an ATM cell, an AAL2 DMX 113-I-2 that converts the AAL2 cell into an AAL2 partial fill cell, and an ATM cell multiplexer section 113-I-4 that multiplexes the AAL2 partial fill cell and ATM cells other than the AAL2 cell, the priority of each ATM cell is decided based on the class information provided by the ATM channel adaptor section is decided, before each ATM cell is received in an ATM switch to control read from the ATM cell multiplexer section. Similarly, the inside of an output side ATM channel adaptor section decides the priority of each ATM cell, based on the class information provided by the input side ATM channel adaptor section and reads each ATM cell, when transferring each ATM cell to a transmission channel.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To download data corresponding to each of a plurality of home devices on an Ethernet (R)) network from an intra-station device.SOLUTION: A communication system 10 comprises a home device 20 and an intra-station device 50 which are able to transmit and receive Ethernet frames. The intra-station device 50 includes: a download control unit which downloads download data to the home device 20 by dividing the data into a prescribed size of data blocks; a vendor specific OAM generation unit which generates Ethernet OAM frames defined peculiarly by a vendor; and an ANI unit 51 which transmits the Ethernet OAM frames via a prescribed VLAN (Virtual LAN). The home device 20 receives the Ethernet frames via the prescribed VLAN to separate the Ethernet OAM frames, terminates Ethernet OAM frames including each data block, and reconfigures the download data from each data block.
