    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent shortening of the life of a circuit component and the damage to the component at the time of abnormal power source voltage by providing a circuit for detecting the voltage level of a commercial power source. SOLUTION: A commercial power source 9 is received by an indoor unit 13, and supplied to an outdoor unit via a connecting line 18. An outdoor controller 11 controls the outdoor unit 14 through a connecting line 19 according to the command of an indoor controller 10. A power source voltage level detector 15 is provided at the line 18, and converts the received commercial power to a DC via its rectifying diode 20 and a smoothing capacitor 21. The DC voltage obtained by the rectification is judged at the voltage level of the power 9 in proportional relation with the voltage of the power source 9. That is, the DC voltage is divided by the voltage divider 22 of the microcomputer 16 in the controller 11, and when it is the input of the criterion value or less of the microcomputer 16, the operation of an air conditioner is inhibited to prevent the decrease in the life of the circuit component and the damage of the component at the time of erroneous connection of the power source.

    • PURPOSE:To miniaturize control parts and electrical motors, make a high function of an air conditioner to make an air conditioner smaller. CONSTITUTION:One chip monolithic IC three-phase inverter or its peripheral circuits are provided in an indoor blower electrical motor 6 and an outdoor blower electrical motor 12. A commercial AC voltage from a commercial power supply 1 is rectified and smoothed by an indoor side rectifier circuit 3 and an indoor smoothing capacitor 4 so as to generate a DC voltage and this DC voltage is directly supplied to the indoor blower electrical motor 6 as the power supply voltage. At the outdoor control part 7, the commercial AC voltage is rectified and smoothed by the rectifier circuit 8 and the smoothing capacitor 9 so as to generate the DC voltage. The DC voltage is supplied directly as the power supply voltage to the outdoor blower electrical motor 12 and the inverter 10 of the compressor electrical motor 13. The indoor control circuits 5 and 11 may output an instruction of the number of revolution of each of the indoor blower electrical motor 6 and the outdoor blower electrical motor 12.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit a proper cycle regardless of the differences in the magnitude of load to indoor units, the internal capacity of individual indoor units, etc., in a simple constitution, and to obtain the proper distribution quantity and discharge air temperature to a plurality of indoor units. SOLUTION: The discharge air temperature of an indoor unit is detected by a thermistor provided at the discharge opening of the heat exchanger of the indoor unit for feedback control, and thereby the number of revolution of a compressor and those of indoor and outdoor fans, and the throttling amount of a motor-operated expansion valve are changed to make the cycle proper. Moreover, refrigerant can be distributed properly by detecting the discharge air temperature of the indoor unit. Thereby, the proper cycle is permitted regardless of the differences in the amount of load to the indoor units, the internal capacity of the individual indoor units, etc., in a simple constitution, and the proper distribution quantity and discharge air temperature to a plurality of indoor units are obtained.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate erroneous function of four-way valve by detecting the refrigerant temperature of indoor and outdoor heat exchangers and conducting the pilot solenoid valve of the four-way valve only when the difference between delivery pressure and suction pressure of a compressor is low at the time of cooling operation. SOLUTION: At the time of cooling operation, high temperature high pressure refrigerant gas delivered from a compressor 3 enters through a four-way valve 4 into an outdoor heat exchanger 5 where it is cooled and condensed to produce liquid refrigerant which is fed through a pressure reducing unit 6 to an indoor heat exchanger 7. The liquid refrigerant is evaporated and returned through the four-way valve 4 back to the compressor 3. A controller 8 receives the refrigerant temperature signals of the outdoor and indoor heat exchangers 5, 7 detected through temperature sensors 1, 2 and converts them into delivery and suction pressure signals of refrigerant before calculating the pressure difference. If the pressure difference is lower than a decision level, the pilot solenoid valve of the four-way valve 4 is conducted thus eliminating erroneous function thereof.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the power factor of an apparatus and to reduce its noise, by controlling a semiconductor switch by use of an ON-OFF control signals generated at a constant period. CONSTITUTION:As a power circuit, a capacitor input type rectifying power circuit is constituted by an AC power supply 1, diodes 2-5, and a smoothing capacitor 6. Also, a short circuit for said AC power supply is composed of diodes 8-9, a semiconductor switch 10, and a reactor 12. Further, a control circuit for said semiconductor switch 10 is constituted by a sine-wave pattern generating circuit 13 synchronized with the AC power supply 1, a triangular- wave oscillator circuit 16, an ON-OFF control circuit 17, an OFF control circuit 18, an OFF-preference circuit 19, and a driver circuit 15. Thus, the AC power supply 1 is short-circuited by the semiconductor switch 10 via said reactor 12 for a period of absence of the rectified current to pass current so that the waveform of an input current is made substantially sinusoidal. Moreover, the ON-OFF period of said semiconductor switch 10 is made constant by the OFF control circuit 18 and OFF-preference circuit 19.

SOLUTION: A commercial power supply 9 being used as the power supply of an air conditioner is received by an indoor machine 13, and is transferred to an outdoor machine 14 by a connection line 18. A DC power supply circuit 12 being provided in the outdoor machine 14 creates a DC power supply being supplied to an indoor control circuit 10 from the commercial power supply being transmitted from the indoor machine 13, and is supplied to the indoor control circuit 10 by the connection line 19. The indoor control circuit 10 is operated by the DC power supply being supplied by the connection line 19 and at the same time communicates with the outdoor control circuit 12 via a modulation/demodulation circuit 17 being connected to the connection line 19. Communication is made by modulating the DC power supply with a high frequency signal based on a communication signal. As a result, a wall service outlet for a room air conditioner inside a room can be used, and also the need for large parts for high voltage can be eliminated from an electrical appliance of the indoor machine 13.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To permit the employment of a plug socket for a room air conditioner provided in a room by a method wherein commercial power supply is received by an indoor machine and is transmitted to an outdoor machine through connecting wires. SOLUTION: The power source of an air conditioner or a commercial power supply 9 is received in an indoor machine 13 and is transmitted to an outdoor machine 14 through connecting wires 18-a, 18-b. A DC power supply circuit 12, provided in the outdoor machine 14, produces a DC power source, supplied from the commercial power supply 9 transmitted from the indoor machine to an indoor control circuit 10, and supplies the same to the indoor control circuit 10 through connecting wires 19-a, 19-b. The indoor control circuit 10 is operated by the DC power source supplied through the connecting wires 19-a, 19-b and communicates with an outdoor control circuit 12 through a modulator and demodulator 17-a. According to this constitution, the employment of a plug socket for room air conditioner positioned inside of a room becomes possible. Further, operation of all electric instruments in the indoor machine 13 becomes possible by a low voltage DC power supply from the DC power supply 12 provided in the outdoor machine 14 whereby large-size parts for a high voltage become unnecessary.
