    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep vegetables fresh and to improve convenience in use by disposing on the door side a vegetable storing vessel which is so held that the upper end thereof is lower by a prescribed length than the upper end of a vegetable storing tray. SOLUTION: The width of a vessel 1 comprises a large width and a small width which are different in dimension, and moreover two sides having the small width are so formed as to have heights different in dimension, a large height and a small height, respectively. The upper part of the vessel between the two sides is cut obliquely so that a throw-in opening be formed. By combination of this vessel 1 with a fitting plate 19 which enables regulation of a partitioning position in two stages, a storing space most suitable for storing small-sized vegetables is formed. The fitting plate 19 is shaped like a strip and partitions the inside of a tray 16 into front and rear spaces, in two stages, by using fitting grooves 20a and 20b provided on the opposite sides. The fitting plate 19 forms a space between the inner wall of the tray 16 in the front and it supports the vessel 1 jointly with the inner wall surface of the tray, on the front and at the back, and therefore the vessel 1 is prevented from falling down or shifting due to opening and closing of a vegetable chamber.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To hold vegetables in a standing state for keeping freshness and to improve convenience for storage of the vegetables by holding a vegetable storing vessel so that the upper end thereof is lower by a prescribed length than the upper end of a vegetable storing tray. SOLUTION: The width of a vessel 1 being a foodstuff storing vessel for a refrigerator comprises a large width and a small width which are different in dimension, and moreover two sides having the small width are so formed as to have heights different in dimension, a large height and a small height, respectively. The upper part of the vessel between the two sides is cut obliquely so that a throw-in opening be formed. By combination of this vessel 1 with a fitting plate 19 which enables regulation of a partitioning position in two stages, a storing space most suitable for storing small- sized vegetables is formed. Since the vessel 1 is supported by a partition plate 19 and the inner wall surface of a tray 16, it is prevented from falling down or shifting due to opening and closing of a vegetable chamber. Since the throw-in opening is formed by cutting obliquely the upper part of the vessel 1, storage of small-sized foodstuff corresponding to the length thereof is enabled by disposing the vessel so that the direction of the throw-in opening be changed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange a refrigerating chamber, a vegetable chamber and a freezing chamber in optimum operation areas in accordance with the order of frequency in use and particularly prevent the vegetable chamber from being excessively cooled. SOLUTION: A refrigerator comprises a refrigerating chamber 100, a freezing chamber, a vegetable chamber 200 which is provided between the refrigerating chamber 100 and the freezing chamber, a heat exchanger and a blower 506 by which cold air cooled by the heat exchanger is supplied to maintain the temperature of the refrigerating chamber, the freezing chamber and the vegetable chamber at prescribed temperature. The refrigerating chamber 100 has a storage chamber 104 whose temperature is lower than those of the refrigerating chamber and the vegetable chamber in its lower part. The vegetable chamber has storage cases 202 and 204. The refrigerator has a first passage for exhausting cold air by which the refrigerating chamber is cooled between the lowermost face of the refrigerating chamber and the bottom surface of the storage chamber whose temperature is low, and a second passage for supplying cold air for cooling the vegetable chamber between the lowermost face of the refrigerating chamber and the upper parts of the storage cases of the vegetable chamber.
