As a result, a laser spot 1 only reproduces rotation synchronization signals and sector address information. Therefore, no cross talk effect is received from the adjacent groove 5. Moreover, a recording is only performed on a land 3 and as a result, a recorded disk has a single spiral and the format compatibility with a ROM disk is accomplished.

Then, when the pickup part 100 is selected, and a command for its recording and reproducing is issued, the pickup part 100 is controlled to be separated from the pickup part 200 and also to be lifted in the direction of (a) by operating the control circuit 105. Thus, the disk 1c is drawn out and is recorded and reproduced by the pickup part 100.
