摘要： PURPOSE: To screen automatically a desired colony only by presetting selected conditions, by taking a picture of a laboratory dish containing a cultivated colony with a color television camera, and processing electrically the resultant information on the respective picture elements.
CONSTITUTION: A picture of a cultivation laboratory dish 1 is taken with a television camera 2 (symbol 5 represents a monitor television), and the resultant information on the plural picture elements is respectively subjected to the noise processing and A/D conversion in a processing part 6 and then memorized in a memory 7 as information consisting of the three primary colors with an intensity given thereto. Colonies having a color intensity and shape dimension above the specified threshold values are screened to detect the position thereof (symbol 9 represents the shape judging and position detecting part), and colonies having a hue of a specific part (e.g. a part of relatively small area in almost the center thereof) in agreement with the specified color set in a hue file 10 are selected from the screened colonies. The resultant colonies as qualified colonies are memorized in a memorizing part 11.
