    • PURPOSE:To effect foam molding with the quality of the products stabilized and with the rate of the foaming and the weight of the products less scattered by adjusting metering stroke of an injection plunger based upon the deviation of the foaming pressure of the melted resin cast in a cavity from the standard foaming pressure. CONSTITUTION:The pressure of the melted resin 8 at the time when foamed is detected by a pressure detector 10, and the pressure signal is inputted via a dynamic strain guage into a metering controlling apparatus 13. The original value of the metering stroke of the injection plunger 4A and standard foaming pressure (there is an allowance in the range of 15) have been previously set in the metering controlling apparatus 13, and it is compared the detected foaming pressure, and when the detected forming pressure is higher than the standard foaming pressure, the metering stroke is reset to be shortened by one unit, while when the detected foaming pressure is lower than the standard foaming pressure, the metering stroke is reset to be increased by one unit.

    • PURPOSE:To assemble an optical connector easily with high accuracy by using a plug formed with a hole for insertion of an optical fiber by a core pin projecting from the end face of a core forming the end face on the butt side of the plug in the stage of forming the plug. CONSTITUTION:A core pin 37 which forms a hole 8 for insertion of the strand 2 of an optical fiber 1 is erected on a core 34 forming the forward end face of a plug 6 in the stage of forming the plug 6; thereafter, said plug is formed, whereby the hole 8 is formed with high accuracy in the position matching to the plug 6. The covering at the end face of the fiber 1 is removed and a cap nut 15 and a spring 19 are inserted onto the fiber, then the fiber 1 is inserted into the holes 7, 8 of the plug 6 injected therein with an adhesive agent until the strand 2 projects from the forward end of the plug 6. The adhesive agent is allowed to set to fix the plug 6 and the fiber 1 to one body, whereafter the strand 2 projecting from the forward end face of the plug 6 is cut and the end face of the plug 6 is polished to a specular surface.
